I'm getting my hopes up on this, when I know in fact it will probably be over after tomorrow :(

Stranger things have happened before and i'm not giving up until it's mathematically impossible.

I too am finally weighing into this. If Spurs somehow beat City then we knock our last two games off we're back in the CL!

Not quite. City only need three points from their remaining games to be certain of finishing fourth. One win, and we can't catch them.

Massive credit to Kenny and the lads for keeping this thread open so long though!

And I'm certainly not being negative, just want to concentrate on our matches, one at a time, and see where it takes us.

If spuds beat shitty, they will be bricking it, and might drop further points, but I fully expect a draw tonight. 3-3 or something. that would leave shitty needing 2 point's from 2 games left. I did predict they would get 4 draws before the everton game. 3 draws now for them. Just to drag it all out a wee bit longer. ;D..

We also have the advantage that they don't have much time off since they have the FA Cup final which I hope they win because I think if they win they may take the Bolton and Stoke games for granted and both of those teams are pretty solid defensively.

Man City are going to win at least one of their last 3 games so we won't finish 4th.

And don't forget the whole Stoke situation.

14th May FA Cup Final - Man City v Stoke

If Man City win then Stoke will only qualify for Europe if Man City finish 4th or above.

Who plays on the 17th May in the Premier League? Man City v Stoke.

5th is the best we can get.

I'm just hoping for a Spuds win tonight amazing that really, shows the confidence that I have in the team right now knowing if Spuds beat City they go above us but confident that when we face Spuds on Sunday we'll beat them and get all 3 points and go back above them and yet could close the gap on 4th dependent on City's results.

From the perspective of getting 5th, tonights game doesnt matter. We win OUR two games, we are fifth. Simple.

As for fourth, we need City to only manage 2 points in their last 3 games. So a win for Spurs would be ideal, a draw OK.

Just take one game at a time. Next focus, beat Spurs on Sunday.

If Spurs draw with Citeh and we draw with Spurs, would that mean we would still be 5th?

Yes we'd be 1 point ahead of spurs.

      ;)

I'm still believing and the fact that I can say that with two games to go says an awful lot about this team and why we shouldn't write them off!

I could've never imagined that this season would end up like this, if not for the King we would probably have been talking about needing to win to get out of relegation or at best about trying to get into the top half of the table.

I'm also really getting pissed off with hearing people mention Spuds still in with a chance to get 4th but it doesn't even cross their minds that we are better positioned than them to get to that unlikely 4th.  I haven't once heard us being in with a chance for 4th from any of the tv pundits but whenever they mention Spuds they mention that they are still in with a chance for 4th.

Spurs get a win or point and I think City will bottle it.
We will destroy - yes I am using the word destroy for a team we have admired this season - Spurs. That's how good we are.
Then City's bottle, nerve, character will be on the line against Stoke.
Stoke - the team that if we did the double over in 09 would have meant our 19th championship.
Come on Spurs then Stoke. Bolton can then get a draw.
