Who is this 'liverpool official' who has confirmed this?? We've seen how poignant kenny has been about our transfer dealings we keep it to ourselves and only announce to the press when there is news..

This is the mancs starting up sh*t for us. We've kenny back we're starting to rebuild put some wins together and they start this media sh*t to try to keep us down. Old Mctaggart has met his match with King Kenny IKWT

Unless the new fair play rules come in without loop holes struggling to see how nesv are expecting us to compete with the chelsea and citys of this world. If either club had wanted suarez he woul have been theirs a week ago. We just dont have the money to compete
Couldnt agree more we can wait around for 'value' for the next 10 transfer windows either uve got the money or not, either u need the player or not its quite simple to me. Stevie will be retired before any of our bargaining ploys actually work

Will Chelsea come in with a new bid? Probably.
Still mate If this went through I'd eat my hat.

Three days from the current transfer deadline, making a bid for practically our only striker, for 15 million less than they reportedly bidded for Aguero and knowng we havent yet brought in a forward ourself is a laughable attempt considering the circumstances. We're spsoedly looking to bring a new forward in and they're attempting to prize away our only one? I just ask myself who actually comes up with the logic behind these bids, absoloutely foolish, think its more of a PR stunt more than anything, "we still have the money" or some other bravado bullshit.

If anyone at the club even considered accepting this bid, even for ridiculous amounts of money (50-70 million) I'd have to ask if they've got their heads screwed on. I'll convert to Budhaism if this bid even comes close to going through.

then it's all down to Torres to stick two fingers up at their contract.

Yeah i think I agree with ^^^^. If Chelsea can't agree fee for Luiz how can they afford Torres. Only concern I have is if Torres wants to stay in this team if we do nothing this window. Chelsea are sinking ship ATM, aging team and have a very poor squad. Trying to get a player before financial fair play rules come in.

They can bid £50million all day.

No way would Torres turn his back on us for them. He has too much respect for Kenny.

He knows we are going in the right direction.

Bull F***ing sh*t. Must be the lowest buyout clause for a top player in europe. They are usually around a hundred million why didnt chelsea just bid that then

Because either it's bullshit and the buyout clause is higher than that (although knowing Hicks and Gillett I doubt it) or as someone said earlier it's just bravado by Chelsea trying to make it look to their gullible fans that they still have money to spend...

Yeah as Corbally said, that sounds like a sack of sh*t to me.

If he did have a £50 million buyout clause (Extremely unlikely), why wouldn't Chelsea offer that? After reportedly bidding over £50 million for Aguero Im guessing they have the funds available? Surely they have more of an insight in to his contract than some bloke down at the times.

They probably knew that Athletico would turn the offer down as well.

Nothing but trying to unsettle a player who always rips them to F***ing pieces. F**k off chelsea, you're falling apart and we're going to finish above you this season.

Mirror is saying Chelsea plan a 60m bid (so there is no 50m release clause ?) and Torres has already discussed his future with Kenny.

      http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Chelsea-Fernando-Torres-60m-offer-to-Liverpool-that-would-smash-British-transfer-record-article683749.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

"The main stumbling block to the sale of Torres is FSG’s concerns about the reaction it would provoke from Liverpool supporters."

      Don't even imagine...

      Same. Never gonna happen.

      Torres loves us.

If he did ever leave, it will either be back to Athletico to finish off his career or to a club with history and tradition. Not an artificial Chelsea/ man city regime.

When you read his book, unless he is not genuine(he is). Torres will never play for another English club.

Around age 34, coming back from Spain, he may accept a lucrative contract from Blackburn. :)
