Forget the money would a Carrol and Suarez partnership be better than a sulky Torres?.Oh yes.

      Exactly.

Carroll and Suarez in for half arsed Torres and Babel is a no F***ing brainer.

Plus I bet you it's a hell of a lot cheaper in wages.

If we sign Carroll for 35 million, I'm going to be slightly embarrassed as a fan.

      Why?

Never seen Carrol play. Is he that out and out striker that we need if torres is to leave?

Obviously Caroll is this expensive because we're getting him this late before the deadline. But if we're getting Caroll for 35, then we should be selling Torres for 60 million. It seems we're drawing the short end of the stick with these deals when it comes to money. Though that's mostly Torres' fault for handing in the f**king transfer request.
your absolutely right of course but all that matters is tomorrow we have a stronger squad than today. That is the aim of the board an dif they pull this off then its a good day.
Having a genuine front 2 partnership again would be a fantastic move for the club.

30million it way too high. Bent went for 24million for a proven PL striker. He is having a good season and we may need a striker, but not for that price.

He signs for us for £35m and what are you going to do about it LL?

      Exactly.  ;)

£35m is a lot... but could turn to be a great player for us.

At worst, he will have strong re-sale value as he just turned 22.  Whereas other players 27+ will have £0 return.

Though that's mostly Torres' fault for handing in the f**king transfer request.

      Good point.

      F**k me...

People complaining about us over spending, but after the last 6 transfer windows frankly I don't give a sh*t! I'm loving this (minus Nando being whoppish) :D

      Sign them all I say!

I am as well mate. He's definitely a handful and I have missed us having a striker who'll stick his head through the ball to score no matter what's in front of him.

A pairing that would do anything to get the ball in the back of the net. They'll do for me!

I could go back and edit it, but I am usually careful that I don't put "dollars" instead of "pounds"....sorry, I guess the mere fact we paid that much is so shocking I am forgetting basic tendencies.

The transfer fee surely puts to bed the myth that NESV don't want to spend money.

I'm warming to the idea of Carroll. He's young, strong, good in the air, good on his feet and only going to get better. Would be a great player to have leading the line with Suarez. Rather have two fired up strikers than one throwing a hissy fit.

It's a bit steep, but i'm just glad to see some investment.

We will defiantly have 2 young top strikers in Carroll and Suarez, just if we get Suarez for 23 million, that looks like great value compared to 35 million for Carroll. Carroll has great potential but his attitude and off field problems stink. 35 million is a massive risk.

We want spending but we want value with our spending. We don't wanna splash another 20 million on a man on crutches or 18 million on a defender who can't defend.

Carroll plays best when balls are crossed into the box, we can't play like that.

£35 million agreed according to sly sports. Bookies stopped taking bets.
