New Look Liverpool!

Basically I'm curious as to how (when all fully fit) our Liverpool team will line up? Will be going back to a 442? What about a 4411 or 4132?

I'm excited no doubt, but I'm also curious as to who will play centrally? Meireles and Gerrard are no doubts our best central midfielders, but neither of them would be great defensively. So do you drop one for Lucas? or play Gerrard/Meireles out wide?

Either that or do you think for the rest of the season we'll play narrow and in the summer buy some wingers? Or could we promote from within? Exciting times a head for us reds. I can't wait.

Kenny's team selection against Blackpool has scared me into ever trying to guess what he will do first.

I think it will be so something like this as well racer.

Carroll is a perfect front man in a forward three and Suarez and Maxi will provide good support as well as Gerrard and Raul. Lucas will sit deeper just to give cover but I do like him slightly further forward and feel a proper defensive midfielder could be an option in the summer.

Think Carra will come in for Skrtel when he is fit though.

Kenny knows what he is going to do. He won't just sign Carroll and Suarez without knowing how and where to play them.

Quality looking team with players willing to work hard for the team

I'm finding it hard to fit a team together, especially if you take into consideration Adam and Young who were wanted but couldn't be bought.

But that is the point lads, a team capable of winning the league has to be in a situation in which you have to leave good players out of the starting XI.

Really hope Cole sees his form improve too, would like to see a flying Joe Cole at Liverpool.

Agreed. I think Kenny will go 4-3-3, with Lucas as the 'base' of the midfield trio with Gerrard and Miereles licence to interchange in front.

Maxi / Kuyt - Carroll - Suarez as a front trio could be very tasty

I would imagine Young would have played on the left of a forward three and Adam would have competed with Gerrard and Raul for a place in the midfield as he is not good enough defensively to play as the sitting or defensive midfielder.

I'm more interested in who will be replaced from the 1st team in the summer to complete the new look liverpool. The weak links must surely be:

carragher
skrtel
johnson
maxi
kuyt

As to who they might be replaced with is anyone's guess. Ashley young for Maxi would be a good start...

What i have found with Kenny is that there is no rigidity, he trusts the players to make space, move into attacking positions, come inside if need be. He also trusts their discipline to fall back into position when we lose the ball. We now press a lot more as well.

Formations very rarely stay in sync, opponents tactics and styles all differ. Kenny has let these lads express themselves and given them belief. Most importantly, he has let them know that he trusts them to go out and just play football and enjoy playing it.

Maxi for Kuyt and am with ya.

I don't really see Suarez as a winger, more as a striker who'll get out of the box and sometimes go down the right flank. That's why I want Kuyt in the team to balance it, he could do all the running so then the other lads will shine. Pretty much like he did in the World Cup for Netherlands, when he played on the left, as Robben and Van Persie hardly track back.

And I'm really tired of Maxi. Maybe I'm a bit too harsh on him but that's how I feel. He's invisible for most of the time, nearly every game. I prefer Kuyt making mistakes but at least being up for the game than someone who seems afraid of the ball.

By far the strongest lineup I've seen in a while.

The partnership defo has a look of Toshack and Keegan

I think Carrol is far more mobile than John Toshack. The question is without natural width in the team how will we exploit his strength in the air. I dont think Raul is suitable to play the Mascherano role so that has to be Lucas.
If Joe Cole gets his finger out and plays to his potential he will be a good buy but so far he is dissapointing.
Cant wait for tomorrow to see Suarez and maybe Ngog as a target man up front.
