I take it to mean that H&G wanted to block Broughton from suing them for defamation of character and the judge has blocked the from doing so. In other words he can sue for damages to his reputation under slander laws.

I believe this is correct, and it appears MB is suing Tommy Hicks!  Despite being a Chavs fan, I have mad respect for MB for the work he did in getting rid of the parasites, and also that he is still going after them for more!  Well in Marty!
