I love the way footballers undergo surgery and then they are straight back in the gym. It's totally ridiculous.
I'm well aware they are far fitter etc than most of us, but an operation is still an operation.
I'd rather he put his feet literally up for two weeks rather than being worked like a dog.
I'm hoping when Kenny referred to rehabilitation - putting his feet up was what he meant.
Apart from the fact that professional athletes are in much better fettle than the majority and healing times are faster with specialised attention, surgery is far less intrusive these days.
With the help of micro surgery, lasers and a host of high tech equipment recovery time is a fraction of what it was, although it does seem a wee bit rushed putting a time scale of a month to get over surgery and be ready for the fray. Intense treatment of that nature can only impact on body resources and irrespective of the estimated recovery time his actual physical wherewithall must come into the equation. Putting his feet up for a spell and chilling would be well in order.
