      Pacheco set for Norwich loan
Daniel Pacheco is set to join Championship side Norwich City on emergency loan until May 31, 2011.

The deal will go through once clearance is received from the Football League.

Liverpool's No.12 is currently away on international duty with Spain U21s preparing for Thursday night's match with France.

Norwich boss Paul Lambert said: "Dani is a lad we've seen playing for Liverpool's first team this season and I've been talking to Kenny Dalglish about him for a few weeks now.

"He's technically very good as you'd expect having been with clubs like Barcelona and Liverpool and the fact he's away with Spain U21s speaks volumes for his ability and potential."

Pacheco will team up with former Red Zak Whitbread who is at Carrow Road and the Canaries are currently second in the Championship as they eye promotion to the Barclays Premier League.

Good Luck Dani, its one of two things for me, Kenny doesn't think he's good enough to play a part in our run in or Kenny wants him to get some competative games under his belt ready for next season.

Edit scratch that Emergency loan, Kenny helping out a pal.

Good luck to the lad hope he gets plenty of game time and scores assists many a goal, i find it interesting that Kenny has allowed Dani to go  on loan and especially to Norwich under Paul Lambert, one of the best up and coming managers around IMO, he will get the best out of Dani, even tho its just t'il the end of season, we hope.

Norwich was a good choice.  Hope he does well and shows his potential and comes back ready to go next season. Just hope he doesn't start performing and gets his head turned by first XI football elsewhere.

I think this a great move for quite a few reasons.

      1) He needs game time, having sat out most of the season from the bench.

      2) He will be playing for an English side, in a league they won't hessitate to try to kick him.

      3) Norwhich play some very attractive football, their tyle of play will suit Dani.

      4) Every game he plays from now and the end of the season will be big pressure matches, with Norwhich either looking to qulaify automatically, or just as likely, playoff football.

Great move, can only do him good.

In Grant Holt, he certainly has a very good player to set up goals for. That guy is a championship goal scoring machine.

These also have Zac Whitbread, ex-liverpool. A player I rated very highly before we sold him to bloody Millwall!

I seriously think Dani's days at Anfield are numbered. The last three managers we've had have chose not to play him in the first team. I rave about him to lads at works, but maybe he isn't as good as we think.
There have been plenty of games this season where I thought Dani could have been introduced, but it wastn't to be. Hope I'm wrong and next season he stays, and gets a regular place in the first team.

I think his problem is simple, he isn't quick in any sense of the word, and is only very slightly built. In order to suceed without one or the other you have to be exceptionally gifted.

It is yet to be seen if he is, I would love it if he turned out like a Luka Modric or a Samir Nasri.

I will no doubt get flamed for this but here goes...

I am a season ticket holder at Norwich (have been for 11 years) after we moved from Wrexham when I was 8. Was brought up a Liverpool fan but couldn't live without watching a team and Norwich was closest. At the age of 8, I couldn't really travel to and from Liverpool every other week.

Anyway, people say you can't have two teams, well Norwich is my 1st, Liverpool 2nd... Thats introduction out of the way!

Watch a lot of LFC tv and see him in the reserves, he is quality and I have let fellow Norwich fans know. With Paul Lambert and our coaching staff he will be helped along nicely. Very excited about the prospect of Holt up top with Wes Hoolahan, Henri Lansbury and now Dani in support.

We have a great team spirit which he will be welcomed too and a real desire to win so he will learn lots! We also play some of the best football in the league, maybe Swansea being the only team that pass the ball better than us.

Anyway, 8 games to go, two on sky (Swansea Away Sat 9th April 17.20 kick off & Forest Home Friday 15th April 19.45 Kick off) as well as Ipswich away which should be on BBC Thursday 21st April at 19.45. You can catch us in action on The Football League show too after MOTD, normally in the first set of games!

Hey Norwich_Red. Most of us have been following Dan's progress for years now and hoping to see him come through. He's performed brilliantly at every level except first team where he's never really been given a chance. Potentially you've got one hell of a player there. I'm really looking forward to seeing him on tv.

We don't use wingers so that shouldn't be a problem! I think he will suit our style and our players very well. Make sure you watch the games on Sky. We might not be PL standard but this league is really quite good!

Whether he will start or not is a good question. We have a fairly settled line up but only have 1 striker scoring. We have scored many, many goals from midfield this season. We signed Sam Vokes from Wolves too and I think he is back-up for The Ipswich Destroyer, Grant Holt. However I think Pacheco may well play.

Arsenal's Henri Lansbury is even struggling to start for us every game, on the bench recently despite quite clearly being of immense quality. I am pretty sure though that Lambert knows we needed another goalscorer or creator to just take pressure off the others and I don't think he would have got 2 in without planning on using them, as I said I think Vokes is back up so that must make Dani a starter?

ETA - We now have ANOTHER game on Sky. Monday 2nd May away to Pompey. Not happy as it is penultimate game of the season and  Portsmouth is a long slog on a Monday night! Two days off it is then!

Way things are looking you may be seeing your second team at Carrow Rood next year.
After that your second team may become your first team and your first team your second.

Their style of play will be fairly similar to ours, as they have Grant Holt who plays as a big target man... hmmmm, sounds familar.

Way things are looking you may be seeing your second team at Carrow Rood next year.
After that your second team may become your first team and your first team your second.

...and dont start talking about perches around here.
We've already got one Canary squawking down the East Lancs. He's a red whisky nosed variety.

Erm.. hello euro red... erm... yeah it is a lovely part of the country... erm.... oh sod this, takes too long to type!

Unfortunately, I had a season ticket last time we were in the prem and my number 1 team was the same then too! I remember Ryan Jarvis scoring a screamer against you at our place. I was born in Wrexham so can't cross all 6 fingers on each hand like my fellow Norwich fans, but I will be hoping to see you all at Carrow Rood next year boy...

Kind of disappointed that he never got more of a chance here, for whatever reason, I always liked him.  Hope he makes the most of this experience.  Wish him the best of luck and really hope he comes back to us.

As 'Fields of Anny Road' said it's better him going here than - with all due respect, Bristol City for example who have nothing really left to play for or a lower divison side.

Norwich won't want to settle for someone who's just along for the ride they want that extra spark to push them to the promised land and he may just do that.

Hope it goes well for both Dani and the Canaries who are now a team I will be following more closely!!

Hope he can perform at Norwich, and let whoever in charge by then think twice about not using him. If he does not perform, doesnt mean he's bad, as one poster said above. Not physically gifted, and not quick enough. But if he's good on other stuff technically, he's can play well in Spain and Italian leagues.

Alonso isnt physically strong or quick either.

We've got a few lads from Norwich couchsurfing here at my mates house for the year and ever since we've been talking football I've wanted a reason to follow more of the Championship and now this falls into place! I can't wait to watch Dani hopefully play a lot of good football and do well for Norwich's hopes of promotion, but more importantly I hope it sees him find the experience needed to give Kenny some more faith!

I remember Norwich were everyone's second favourite team back then. I even had my Sensible Soccer team playing in green and yellow! A bit like Blackpool this season, everyone liked them for upsetting the odds and refreshing things.

He needs to go out on loan next season to a Premier League club.

If he is not being considered now, then he will be further down the pecking order next season. I expect us to sign some players like!

Is he is no longer 16 or 17 and needs first team games. Like Danny Welbeck at UNited, put him out on loan and see if he sinks or swims.

Then we will know come 2012/2013 if he is a Liverpool player.

      Pacheco loving Norwich life
      http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/pacheco-loving-norwich-life

Daniel Pacheco has revealed how quickly he has settled in to his loan spell at Norwich City after making a sparkling debut for the Canaries in their 6-0 thumping of Scunthorpe United on Saturday.
      Most Recent News

The Spanish starlet, who will stay at Carrow Road, until the end of the season, proved to be an instant hit and it prompted boss Paul Lambert to tell the Eastern Daily Press: "I thought his debut was as good as I've seen."

Speaking to Norwich City's official website, Pacheco said: "I would like to say thank you to everybody and appreciate the welcome everyone has given me.

"I have enjoyed it. When I arrived on Tuesday after the international break last week everyone expected me to arrive hungry and I think everyone at the club has helped me to settle here and in training.

"Since I came on the first day all of the lads have tried to keep in touch with me and make everything easier for me and again I have to say thank you to everybody at the club."

Liverpool's No.12 featured for 71 minutes in his favoured role just off the striker, and set up the opening two goals.

He received a standing ovation when he left the field.

He added: "The reception I got from the Norwich supporters was amazing.

"For a long time I haven't played many games for Liverpool. To arrive here and see how the fans reacted and how they appreciate my game I have to say thank you to them as well.

"I was really happy, my family came to see the game. We had a brilliant win, it was great to score six goals and personally I am really pleased as well.

"I think I did well, the manager told me the same after the game and I hope I can keep doing the job to help the team.

"I came in straight away as the manager gave me the chance and now I have to repay the confidence he has shown in me and help Norwich reach the Premier League."

The Spanish U21 international also paid tribute to Kenny Dalglish for allowing him the chance to play regular football at Norwich.

"I want to say thank you to Kenny Dalglish for allowing me to come here and I appreciate that," he added.

Pacheco is next in action for Norwich in front of the live Sky TV cameras when they continue their automatic promotion challenge at Swansea City on Saturday (kick-off 5.20pm).

Brilliant display from the lad, will surely give him strength playing against some of he aggressive teams in that league.

Could of been doing that in the first team if given the chance earlier. It's bloody frustrating for me personally seeing him not given a chance, i can't imagine how he'd feel.

Delighted for him to be given this opportunity.

Could not agree more, what I find even more frustrating is why he can not play over Spearing or Miereles in midfield. He likes to play behind the striker which is how Miereles and Gerrard usually play and after watching his game with Norwich he has shown he is comfortable in a high attacking midfield position since he played fairly deep at times.

Can we recall him?  If so, I'd like to see Meireles reunited with Lucas at CM, with Dani playing behind a front 3 of Kuyt, Carrol, and Suarez :)

If the lad was good enough/ready to be playing for Liverpool then he wouldn't be playing for Norwich on loan.

Unless you see him train every day then I would just trust Kenny and the staffs decision.

I trust them mate but what bugs me is that Dani's been on the brink of getting a good chance for a very long time now. He keeps making appearances on the bench and keeps getting offered new contracts so they obviously have faith in him. Surely no matter how many times you watch a player train or watch him in the reserves, you have to eventually throw them into the deep end to see if they can hack it?
I do think this is a good move for Dani because he'll have to get used to the physical nature of playing against older players but I can't help feeling that, if given the chance, he could have settled into our team.
