League Cup: The effects on lower league clubs

Interesting piece in my local paper over the last week referring to the impacts of a decent cup run has on teams down the lower league ladder

Without the dream cup tie we were hoping for in the fourth round it looks as though our relative success in the cup could potentially harm our playing budget next season.

Anybody else find it shocking that a sponsored cup only provides a win bonus for reaching the semi finals and one of only 25k which isn't a lot to a club like us never mind the bigger teams like yourselves!

So unless we pull off the remarkable and beat Wigan we could still be affected financially!

Saying that if we do beat them we'll probably go and draw bloody Swindon the way the draw has panned out so far!
