Didn't he say he is gonna be coaching at Leverkusen and Finland while he gets his badges? It could be a while before we see him here yet :( better late than never though! :)

You simply cannot talk about this Club without talking about Sami he has been one of the rocks up which this club has been rebuilt of late he simply must be back in the future in some guise or other, but with 12 mths still to do at Bayer and with the national side in his sights it may be a while before he turns up, more than welcome though  !

Yeah someone said earlier, in the future though, I'd have him back in a hearbeat.

One of my favourite players ever to wear a red shirt!

Not just a great player but a loyal, dedicated professional which is hard to come by these days.  An all round top guy is our Sami.

One of the best defenders I've ever seen in my lifetime, as not just a Liverpool fan, but a football fan.  So cool, calm and collected, one of the most perfect timers of a tackle I've ever seen and got his head onto nearly every ball in the air.  Absolute legend!!

Good luck for the future Sami, hope to see you in some capacity on the staff at Liverpool. ;)

Can just tell by those pics that everyone who ever played with Sami respected him and liked him. From the side he joined in 1999 to the 2001 treble winning side to the side he left in 2009.

      Love the man to bits.

      True Red
Gutted when he lost the captaincy to Gerrard
to be honest. Took it with total grace & humility.
      All the best big lad.

The word 'legend' is used too often these days to describe players who in no way deserve it.

Not with 'our' Sami , a great pro ,a fantastic servant to our club , a thoroughly decent human being and yes a 'legend '.

So , thanks Sami for all you did for the Reds , all the best for the future , but don't forget , you will always be welcome at Anfield. A true RED !!!

Would love to see him back at LFC in some capacity in the future.

Don't think anyone has a bad word to say about him. A true legend.

      From Dani Pacheco's twitter

"all the best to sammy hyppia! amazing footballer and better person. always looking after young players! so happy to shared team with him!!"
