Expectations for The 2011/2012 Season

I see no reason why we can't expect a top four finish alongside a good run in the Europa League and the FA Cup, assuming we make a few good signings in the summer. We're currently playing brilliantly while missing several key players so I'm sure Kenny will continue this form into next season.

Would wipe the smugness away from the Mancs if we were to win the league next year. We'd have had the record for over 20 years, they'd have had the record for 1.

Was saying that to my missus the other day, they would be so pissed if we finally got out act together just when they finally laid claim to the record

And then they'd have to suffer watching us stretch that record out again

I think that as long a a few strong signings happen in the summer then there is no reason why we shouldn't be in the top 4. Realistically I would shoot for 3rd. Man U and Chelsea will be hard to catch while Arsenal is falling fast (plus Wenger is not known for splashing the cash). Spurs could lose some players after not getting to the CL this year and Man City could be inconsistent again.

As far as trophies: I think an FA Cup win would be fantastic. Don't care too much about Carling. It also be nice to win the Europa League, even if it is a second place tourney  .

Whatever happens -things are looking up! Lets go REDS! YNWA! 

Have to aim higher than top 4.The scum will still be there or there about,Chelski aren't a team(no matter who they buy in the summer)same City.Arsenal slipping away,Spud's will fade away. Not being biased but we seem to be the only club on the up.Wouldn't you agree?

I reckon top 3
I want top 2
I dream of being champions!

I might just go and stick a score on us to lift the title next season, has anyone got any idea what odds are being offered ?

Already have Billy. As i have done for a few seasons. call it blind faith.

These are fairly realistic targets i think we will make top four 2 3 or 4. With the FA and league cup i think we might make the final of one and finally i think we will win the Eurpoa league IF we go in there wanting to win it and sign players. I think we will win the Europa because we have Kenny, money to spend and we deserve to be in the champions league with the lastest games we have been playing.

Anyone else? realistic hopes, not "We're going to win it all"

Even with the squad we have I am highly confident that Kenny could get us into the top 4 so with a few top signings, I genuinely do believe that we can challenge for the title.

A full season of the Liverpool way, it's been a very long time coming.

Im going to want to see the King make Fergishite retire.

Keep on going as we have been under kenny, and we will win something, if not win, we will be very close in everything.

If we can't win the league, Id love to see us have a really good run in the Europa & FA Cup.

Id love the youngsters to prove themselves in the carling cup, we should not need to play senior players till semi's. Even then, let the youngsters go all the way.

And keep playing the great footi.

It doesn't just depend on players who we sign this summer but on who other clubs sign this summer, if Chelsea manage (somehow) to sign Mata and Aguero then they will have a very scary attack for next season and with their defence the strongest in the league it will be hard to get passed them. However, top 2 in the league, win the FA cup and semi's in Europa League would be for me personally a great 'realistic but slightly optimistic' season.

 I might be greedy or stupid  but I go into every new season with the belief that we can win the lot,I must add that I have a lot more confidence in my beliefs this time round with the stability in the club,decent owners (so far) and a good manager and management team.The MIGHTY REDS are back and the football world had better believe it.

We had some bad luck with injuries this season (though good things came from it), but with some squad strengthening in areas where we're a bit thin I don't see how how we can be stopped.

I'd be happy if we qualify for Champions League, and won one of the competitions we're in. Then add a few more players and win the league the following year.

Premier League, Europa League, League Cup and FA Cup. With three or four additions in the Summer this is easily achievable. It is no miracle what Kenny has done since his return, he is a tactical genius with the biggest brain in football.

Imagine what he'll do with a few more top class players, the world is our oyster. This is not optimism either, this is a calculated observation based on the ability of Kenny Dalglish. It is no coincidence that we haven't had a sniff of the title since he left, his presence commands respect, this has shown in the players attitude since he returned to the throne.

It's good progress with the team to date.  I'm SO excited about next season and anticipating who we can attract to the club. 
My expectations are:

1. Anfield to be a FORTRESS again where teams KNOW they ain't getting NO POINTS..
2. More away wins and clean sheets - as I said earlier, we're progressing well under The King..
3. More goals from midfield and defence.

We WILL win a few trophies if we keep this momentum for next season with the above factors..

 

That's it. The away form has been really below par. Even converting some of those losses into draws would raise us a few league spots.
