Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson.

The 20-year-old will today discuss personal terms and undergo a medical on Merseyside after a fee was agreed between the two clubs.

Defender seals loan switch

Liverpool have confirmed Stephen Darby has joined Rochdale on a season-long loan.

The defender will remain with the League One club until June 2012.

Darby spent much of last season on loan at Notts County after moving to Meadow Lane in November 2010.

The 22-year-old has made six first-team appearances for Liverpool, with the last coming in the Europa League qualifier against FK Rabotnicki in Macedonia.

Think these sums paid for Adam and Downing have to change. They're both the lowest ones we've heard or read about. 8M and 20M are more realistic I think. Agree about Henderson though.

Not necessarily, there is quite often a gap between what the buying and selling club announce as the fee agreed. What with the trend to more incremental add-on's in sales fee's there is a wide possibility for the reported fee's to vary, depending upon who is speaking. Lot's of deals now have a base price plus X amount more for a certain number of appearance's, then more for certain targets such as FA cup win/final, C/L qual and England/National team appearance's and so on so forth.

So look at it this way if we paid £18m for Downing, as is quoted here, that is possibly a base price and what we are happy to announce, so our fans don't feel we've been 'had'. Yet Villa want to be able to say to their fans that they got £20m to appease them that they got a great price. In reality both could be true, it's just that we've paid £18m now but that this could increase to £20m if we get C/L footie and/or win the title. To be honest if it means we win the title during his time here I'd happily see us pay them the extra £2-3m more.

Same can be said of the Adam deal/price, it just boils down to who is speaking and what their spin on the price is, or which journo or piece of lying sh*t rag is talking.

Most of those you mentioned are still calling the Henderson deal 20 mill worth. Downing was 18.5 and Adam was 6.8 rising to I think 8.5.

Yeah I know but considering Comolli's words that none of the prices being mentioned in the press was correct (with some saying it was 13M and some others 20M) and that the club didn't overpay for this lad, 16M seems the most likely option.

Ayala seals Norwich move

Daniel Ayala has finalised his move to Norwich City, subject to the relevant paperwork being completed.

The defender leaves Liverpool after four years at Anfield, during which time he made five first-team appearances.

Liverpool FC have reached an agreement, subject to a medical, for Alberto Aquilani to join AC Milan on loan for the remainder of the current season. The deal includes an option to make the move a permanent one.

The club are doing a great job trimming the wage bill and releasing players no longer wanted aren't they. With Konchesky, Jovanovic, , El Zhar, Aquilani and now Insua all moved on you figure they only really need to shift Poulsen and Cole befroe Wednesday and then we're pretty much there.

Insua was rubbish anyway lets be honest. As for Nabil El Zahar, don't even go there. I agree with Scott, we are getting there in terms of deadwood, although there are one or two which are approaching the deadwood column and will I think as their career develops. Danny Wilson I'm afriad is another who is never going to be good enough.

Poulsen seals French move

Liverpool have today confirmed that Christian Poulsen has completed his transfer to Evian Thonon Gaillard.

The Danish midfielder moves to the French side after making 21 appearances in just over a year at Anfield.

Everyone at Liverpool Football Club would like to wish Christian the best of luck with his future career.
