First touch nearly puts Yesil in for a hat trick.

      McLaughlin MOTM for me.

Rossiter looks about 13/14! Not seen him play at all before

He's 15 mate.  I posted his profile a couple of pages back.

Nearly made an immediate impact there.

Same here mate.  A hattrick of assists, can't be bad.

One of the touchline refs looks absolutely knackered and needs a smoke :D

Superb performance in the second half from what i saw. Mclaughlin is a beast. And the boys kept running until the final whistle wanting more goals.

      Outstanding.

McLaughlin, Yesil, Ibe stood out for me in the half I saw. Thought Coady was also very good reading the game and making important interceptions and then playing the right pass. Good pen too, did the first one go the same way?

Well done to all the lads, hopefully that gives them the confidence to go on and do well in the knockouts.

      Liverpool 4 - 1 Inter Milan.

      Beaten the holders.
      Through to the last 16.

Every player looked up for it.
I think Liverpool's change to 4-3-3 caused Inter problems.
Maybe they missed the energy of Duncan.

      Either way, great win.

Fantastic win. McLaughlin, Ibe, Yesil, Coady and Pelosi were all very good I thought. Sokolic was no-nonsense. Like a mini Skrtel

It's great listening to Aldo talking about the lads with real pride there, can tell this group is really special. Think there's quite a few of these lads that have a chance of breaking into the first team in time and I'd probably single out Yesil, Ibe and McGlaughlin but it really wouldn't surprise me for a few of these lads to really put the pressure on the first team lads and it's great to be back in that situation. Long may it continue!

A couple of years ago when the under 18's were doing really well with the likes of Flanno, Robbo, Coady, Wisdom, Raheem etc I think it was Mike Marsh who said the under 16's were even more impressive talent wise.

I see what he means now.

A very, very accomplished display there tonight especially as Brendan was at the game.

      Absolutely Debs.
Instead of one or two we are now looking at a team full of quality youngsters.
Remember Lussey and Dunn are there too.

      Exciting to see.

Think someone needs to start some new player threads after tonight's display.  If I get time tomorrow I'll do some.

If any of you have any preferences to who deserves there own thread put them in here for me.

Maybe we'll indirectly reap the rewards of penny pinching.
Sign a couple of good first team players every season and promote from within for the squad.
Not unreasonable in the long term, so long as youth investment continues.

Which we've already talked about over the last few months mate.

To me it's vital if the "plan" is to be successful.
