Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 - all formats
      Aug 22, 2007 10:22:39 pm
      Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
Available on PS3, XBox 360, PS2, PSP, PC and Nintendo DS from October 19th 2007 (Wii version in 2008)

Apart from the fact we are going to be having some sh*t hot forum competitions on this machine - and combined with PS3 Home you can all come around to my 'House' to play it here are some of the features of the new game:

      - A new adaptive AI system entitled 'Teamvision' will be implemented into the game, Teamvision is a sophisticated AI programming that learns and adapts according to an individual's style of play. As such, it will learn new ways to build attacks and to counter specific movements and previous attacking or defensive errors

      - Facial Import feature utilizing the Xbox 360 Vision Camera/USB Webcam to import your "face" onto players faces in the game.

      - It is confirmed that Jon Champion and Mark Lawrenson are going to replace Peter Brackley and Trevor Brooking as commentators. (Hmmm...)

      - The diving facility has been confirmed for the new title, but more often than not a yellow card will be issued for using this function. (Handy for Chelsea fans)

Release date October 19th 2007 - a few days before I hit a very sad milestone in my life.

I don't think the reds are licensed for the game.

      £50,000 PS3 Tournament

After the forum tournament the next best tourney will be the one where you can win £50,000.  It is being organised by Play.com and you can only enter the tournament if you have bought your copy via them. The tournament will be in December.

You can pre-order from them here
£10 saving on RRP for PS3 and XBox 360 versions - £12 saving on PC version - £5 saving on PSP, PS2 and DS versions

      Wish oh wish I had a PS3.

Never win the 50 grand either. I play on 5 stars but some people see it as a way of life....

Will probably get it on PC.

Is it only me that thinks that's a little spooky?

I know what you mean. A few months later for me too. Sad reaching your mid twenties isn't it mate....

Sounds like a quality investment this though.
You's should put a thread up with a league for the forum (if people will play each other) so we can see who's kicking who's arse!  ;)

John Champion is the commentator? Oh gawd I can't stand his voice! Still going to pre-order it though!
So you can dive on the game? I swear to Dod that the computer better not dive against me, it would drive me crazy, but at the same time would be quite funny!

Oh gawd imagine all the online users diving against each other, I can see this cocking up somewhere!

Lucky it's only facial import. If it had been arse or beer gut import it could have been the most hilarious football game ever.

I'd imagine we'd be able to knock through a tournament in one night depending on the number of player - a cup tournament or something. I've never actually played ANY football game online so I am really looking forward to it.

Good luck then! I use to play PES6 online when I had the time. It was on the PS2 and all I got when I scored was messages of abuse! Trust me some people spend their lives playing PES online, they are so good its unreal.. but again they play the most boring football. They play a through ball up the wings and then cut it back for an easy tap in.. as soon as they score against me they start calling me crap etc etc..

Some people are really rude these days, I wouldn't look forward to playing it online if I was you. And make sure you have a quick connection otherwise you'll get terrible lag.

Look like i'll be getting ot from Play.com then for a chance of that 50K (like I have any chance!)

Do you think Sony will have an update in the Sony Store (like you could get on PES06) where all the names/kit/etc etc are all corrected?

Probably not on the official Sony store. There will be an unofficial patch and we will post it in here and you can use a memory stick (or even access the forum via your PS3) and happy days.

Hey - maybe we will be able to send each other's player faces to each other.  Ha!

got mine in Currys £39.99 :) £50 in Vigin tho!!!

word of advice (PS3), go to settings and install on the HD, also turn off the PS2/DVD upscaling as there is a few issues with the framerate at the moment but there is a patch coming out and this helps it, also play at 720P even if you have a 1080P tv :)

      Its awsome!! :)

I've played a few games online won one and lost a couple I think.  I actually tried to search for you but got no joy under your usual username?  I just think it is poor overall - compared to FIFA 08.  I'll give it a bit of time if there are issues but it just doesn't look or feel anywhere near as good as EA Sports version.

Not too sure.  Did I not post a link earlier for the PS3 version? Try downloading it and see what happens.

      I'm clueless mate.

Is it working on your PS3?

Am I the only one who finds this version too easy? I haven't played it loads but I can already beat all the best teams on top player setting. I've had to edit teams to make their players better & mine worse.

Yeah I did as well man, I was winning games on Top Player/5 Star or whatever it is way too easily, the results were coming out like 8 - 3 and other stupid scorlines. I'm back to playing Pro Evo Six though, I prefer it a lot more. It's quality.

I'm going to get XBox Live in the summer to play this, can't wait...

It's just timing run up to them slowly and then turn left or right while at the same time starting to sprint, it's hard enough to do though.

      Kinda like this crappy diagram:

          I
       O/
        I

The O is the keeper, the rest is your running path. Sprint on the /

In my opinion, it's a piss poor excuse for a game! Me mate borrowed it and we've been having a few games while we've all been in, and it's not a patch on FIFA 08!

FIFA wins this year I'm afraid ladies and gentlemen! Even my Pro Evo enthusiast mate conceded it on Sunday night, he is gutted! :D

My Pro Evo mates have finally turned from the dark side that is Pro Evo to Fifa, when big nut Pro Evo fans are conceding it is sh*t then you know to keep your money in your pocket or to buy Fifa. Pro Evo is horrible, although Fifa should introduce Teamvision.

They are both horrible games. Get your boots on and rent yourself a 5-a-side pitch with your mates and play some good football. Simulation football is fake, boring and frustrating and it makes you put on weight, not lose it!

      Haha, nice one LazyFingers. It's L1+R1+L2 I think F9T.

If anyone thinks its too easy, try sticking the game on Top Player, very Hard ML mode and take the original ML players to Master League glory. Now that is bloody hard.

I like it, and I'm afraid FIFA is too arcade-styled for me. PES is the way to go for the realists out there. (once you get the patch which updates the kits and names of course :))

The only PES would be hard is because the gameplay is so brutal you cant actually score. And you try playing Fifa on legendary, if you say its easy your a lier

MATE,havent played new Fifa,so am unsure how hard it is,just saying from previos experience with Fifas on any level, they become easy on any level after a while, because the A.I. ON THE GAMES IS CRAP.

Same here. PES died with PES5 - the last good one. PES failed to make the step to next gen.

Believe me I was die hard on PES but Fifa 09 is just so damn good.

What do you all think of the newer version, the graphics are just the same, the game is almost exactly the same, except Liverpool are properly on there at last.
