Anyone notice the way Henderson charges into the box when we're taking a pen?

For my money he was encroaching for the one Gerrard missed against Utd and very close to on the first two.....something just to be aware of

To be honest Alf, it's not something I noticed - I was probably to busy noticing the effort he put into negating Mata and his mates. The chances are I'll miss it if/when it happens again too but thanks for the heads up anyhow.

The nice thing is; if encroachment is the only criticism we can level at him then he must be doing the important stuff right - that can only be good for him, good for the team and great for us fans. Big respect to Jordan.

Well he was bought as Stevie's replacement ......... *cough*

Brian78 he'll be 24 in June. Still loads of time to develop and he is improving greatly. On a very basic note his stats are 11-12 48 games 2 goals, 12-13 44 games 6 goals, 13-14 34 games 4 goals but this doesn't in anyway sum up his contribution to the team.

What a performance against the Hammers. We badly needed that fight in midfield and he never shied away from any challenges. Near the end of the game he provided a few quality passes as well. Immense, truly immense!

Just read someone in the transfer thread moaning about Downing's lack of bottle and it reminded me how frustrating Hendo used to be for that exact reason. It was always clear (to most) that the lad had talent but he always seemed like he was scared to get stuck in and mess his fringe up and would regularly wuss out of tackles.
What a improvement we've seen in that part of his game. He looks so driven now and ok, he'll never be a Mascherano type of player but he doesn't give the opposition a second to think and will get stuck in from the first minute to the last. Great to see!

You're right Rep... he's way too creative and (all-round) has more in his locker than Masch. The truth is; Mascherano will never be a Henderson type of player. 

I remember when the word was, although some questioned the assertion that Jordan was somehow inhibited or over-awed in the presence of Steven Gerrard and reluctant to steal a march on him.
However many grains of salt you think that proposition is worth the facts are that SG is playing in a much deeper roll of late and our man is advancing in leaps and bounds, tactical adjustment or coincidence have given us the player we now admire.

3 match suspension unfortunately   His energy in midfield will be a big miss for us in the remaining games, but now is the chance for Lucas/Allen to step up and show that they've got what it takes. 

He'll be missed but I think both Allen and Lucas have come on and done well in the last couple of games, so here's hope they will do a good job replacing him.

It was a bad mistake there in the end to get sent off but other than that he was great again, he's been one of our best players in this 10-wins run and I'm sure not being involved in the next 3 games will be painful to him.

Henderson has been excellent. It's unfortunate but it happens. I really would like to see Lucas on the pitch against Chelsea  and to a lesser degree Palace. He is obviously a very good player but more than that he seems to lift in the big games and plays well against Chelsea.

Hendo will be a huge loss for us. I have faith in Allen and Lucas, mind, but Jordan has been so crucial to everything we've done this season.

As for the red card... definite sending off, I'm afraid. Silly to go in like that.

We will be alright mate, those two know their roles and will get us through and Jordan will come on in the last half of the Geordie match to get his Premier League Medallion.
