That was my argument the other day when they played against Norway. Henderson needs a sitting midfielder behind him for him to have the license to go and do what he does best. His game is restricted considerably when he's asked to be that sitting midfielder.

Like during the WC, when he was played in a 2 man midfield, with Gerrard.
If Roy had any nous he would have made a 3 man mid, because it worked for Liverpool.

We've experienced owl arse's ''intense treatment'' before with players coming back from international duty needing prolonged therapy following the quick-fix treatment at the hands of the England physio's. SG springs to mind.

Yes , Just lets hope the owl did not risk playing him with an injury  , and hendo worsens his knock he had,, an.d he left him in there for the whole 90 mins  , Did not see the game myself, but I saw the friendly against Norway,, I noticed  after half time Woy rested , Wilshire-chamberlaine- rooney -cahill  he left all the  reds  there for 90mins, he subbed Sturridge only on the 90mins, and because DS was injured

Jordan Henderson has been named the new vice-captain of Liverpool Football Club.

Little more than three years after he joined the Reds from Sunderland, the combative and energetic midfielder was today confirmed by manager Brendan Rodgers as Steven Gerrard's deputy.

The senior England international, who has made 136 appearances for the club and scored 13 goals, assumes the role following the departure of Daniel Agger last month.

Henderson was a central figure in Liverpool's battle for the Barclays Premier League title last season, missing just three matches and those due to a suspension late in the campaign.

Having helped Rodgers' team to a second-place finish, the 24-year-old will experience Champions League football for the first time on Tuesday night - also his maiden game as vice-captain - at home to Ludogorets Razgrad.

"Jordan is someone who represents the best values of what we are all about, as a team and as a club," the manager said of Henderson.

"Both he and Steven are examples to others in how they conduct themselves on and off the pitch. It's how they live their lives, it's how they train and it's how they approach their work.

"Jordan is completely dedicated to the game and his leadership qualities come from the example he sets. It's another great story for Jordan in his journey as a Liverpool player and it shows the great progress he has made.

"For club and country he holds himself really well, he's got great stature and I believe he will be an important player here for years to come."

Great news for the lad. As someone who was being shafted by the club 2 years ago, he has buckled down under pressure from the management and some fans and he has worked his ass off. I really like him as a player and person, he deserves it.
