Missed this lad when he went off today.

Became much easier for Spurs in the middle then. They were on top anyway but it became domination.

Thought he was poor defensively, not like we controlled the middle with him, and they were finding a lot of space inbetween the lines.

I didn’t - he was the one really leading the press.

Helluva lot more space when he wasn’t there.

Yea, he just ran out of steam. Comfortable in the first half.
Compared to him, AOC and Gini did next to nothing when they came on.

Have no idea which game you watched...everytime Spurs got the ball int he mid-field hendo was nicking it off them...its why they created nothing in the first half.

He's looked decent since coming back and it's a shame he had to come off. Then again, he's still getting back up to speed and a full 90 minutes at that pace would have been putting him in the risk zone once more with injury and like him or not, we're going to need this man especially having sold Coutinho and Lallana's fitness constantly letting him down. I'm sure Klopp would have ideally liked Hendo to have played the full match but in light of recent injury problems he probably realises that it would have been irresponsible otherwise. He clearly cares about his players condition and fitness. If he didn't he'd be managing England.

      Agree.

I thought he played well and was noticed when he went off.

He was ok before he went off so easily beaten and dribbled past, hopefully he is a bit rusty and the injuries have not taken there toll.
The fact that it was so noticeable when he went off is more an indictment of the replacements Gini and Ox who were frankly dire.

So much space Kane got 10 touches of the ball in 45 minutes, yea loads of room.

Watch the 2nd half and see the Spurs players pick up those pockets of space easily. And whilst Hendo along with our attack and other midfielders were superb at pressing in the first half, watch how easily Hendo was by passed and struggled to tackle when the opportunity arised, but the first half wasn't the problem as we kept them at bay collectively.

The midfield was a shambles in the 2nd half (even with Hendo on the pitch). It happens too often, too often we can not manage the game, too often to get out played in midfield, but that is not down to individuals, it is the balance of the midfield, It's just not good enough. Come summer, that'll soon change when Keita comes in and if we get a proper #6.

Don't think that was entirely down to Hendo.

Second half Spurs moved Alli to the number ten and created an extra man in midfield and for some odd reason we didn't change our shape to accommodate until we went with 3 at the back and Matip was introduced.

I agree, it wasn't entirely down to Hendo, nor was it down to Can or Milner, they were just sh*t and clueless in the 2nd half as a whole. No one in that midfield played well 2nd half.

I also noticed for a lot of our matches, when our midfield is on point, that is mainly down to our attacking players pressing/energy, but when the attack tires or plays sh*t, our midfield crumbles.

They say, when the #6 plays well, the whole team plays well, and if he plays sh*t, the team plays sh*t, but in our case, if Firmino our #9 has a poor game, it seems like our midfield does too as they struggle to control the game which in returns puts pressure on our defense and eventually, we concede!

Definitely tired in the second but overall thought midfield was very good, Klopp moving to 3 CBs really made it tough for them.

Pretty sure Keita isn’t a 6 by the way

He isn’t - way more offensive, plays much higher.

Naby’s tackling is pretty sh*t tbh but his overall game is outstanding.

Didn't think he had a great game but when he went off he was missed. Ox and Gini were pure sh*t. Did they even touch the ball during the 30 minutes they were on? Don't think they actually did and you would have thought OX would have been well up for the game.

Yeh I thought he was very impressive yesterday. Generally the one trying to pick up the tempo in the first half.

He was good offensively trying to play vertical passes and release the ball quickly to the front 3.

Still not convinced of him off the ball as the shield to the defence.

I’m not his biggest fan but thought he did very well yesterday.

I do hate his floating long balls but he was able to make a few direct darting balls low on the ground.

Thought that volley was going in too.

Big call today on whether Hendo starts.
Think he will, though there's not much in it.
If he starts, needs to show more than he has done recently.
      Cmon Hendo..
