      James Milner (Manchester City)

Liverpool eye Manchester City midfielder James Milner

      by Kieran Evans
      Published Tue 28 Jun 2011 22:30

Liverpool are reportedly interested in Manchester City ace James Milner.

Rumours have emerged that the 25-year-old midfielder is unsettled at Eastlands.

It is understood that Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is keeping tabs on the situation with a view to making a possible bid for the England international.

Milner arrived at Eastlands last August and was a first-team regular for boss Roberto Mancini during his first few months.

However, since then he has found himself often starting from the bench, a situation which is believed to have frustrated the former Aston Villa ace.

Dalglish is keen on Milner’s versatility as he can play in central midfield and on the left flank.

      Regarding Milner, I'd pass.

Whats with the negativity? Some of his performances in his final year at Villa were amazing and he dragged that team to victory by the scruff of the neck all by himself. He's not been given much of a chance there but I've no doubt he is better than many of the options we've already got and would be a great success here.

Absolutely no chance he'll be coming though

I'm not saying its fairly reliable.

I said to be fair he's only posting the news, which is exactly what I would have done with the article had I stumbled across it because it encourages discussion, which remarkably is what the forum is all about it.

What confuses me is though that Mac Red commented on the John O'Shea thread about that source...

Four pages of discussion on O'Shea, based on a rumour from the ''click-manchester.com'' ... Interesting ...

So he has posted an article from a source that he has previously complained about so really, he agrees with what i'm saying. Just shows though that he posts absolutely anything he can find and it's getting fairly annoying, wonder how long it'll be before he's quoting articles from the s**.

Think most people think he's a winger, but he isn't. Central midfield is his main position and he's versatile enough, he can play on the wings. He played brilliant for Aston Villa in his final season there and at City he's shown highlights of his best but not really had a good run of games. Especially not in his favourite position.

But I don't believe this rumour. When he comes to central box to box midfielders, I think City are quite thin tbh. Him and Toure are the only two decent players who do that.

So if we got him here on loan you would,nt want that would you. Can play either of the wings and in the centre of midfield.
No I wouldn't. Got far better players than Milner and I see little point in bringing someone in who will not be an improvement on anyone else. We want to be competing with City, not buying their fringe players.

Decent enough player but no room at the inn for him, he for me wouldn't be that much better than we already have in his position, plus we have enough cover in the ressies or in loaned players, i would rather we promote one or two of the young guns someone like Raheem Sterling or the lad Suso not forgetting Tony Silva, these three lads have been very impressive and i would like to see them training with the first team lads to give them a confidence boost, and possibly play them in the Carling cup early rounds, i agree with the comment about Citeh's fringe players, no disrespect to City but i believe we are bigger than them and signing him would be like licking someone else's dinner plate.
