It is funny you say that because before the competition Tim Vicky who is a South American football expert for BBC said with the cool conditions that teams who rely more on hard work and running will benefit a lot as they will be able to keep up with closing down and defending unlike when the weather is hot where your energy level isn't as high. So far he looks to be spot on with that comment.
To be honest, Uruguay have not played "nice to watch" football in this Copa-save for some moments against Mexico, bits against Argentina, and bits against Peru.
I do realize Paraguay must-or should- be tired, and if that is true, I expect Uruguay to have a party on the second period, give the difference between both squads.
BUT...Paraguay have always been a team Uruguay had trouble beating. In the time when we beat Argentina and Brazil easily( yes, that happened once upon a time) we always struggled against Paraguay. It might have something to do with them playing with the same killer drive like we do, dont know...
Uruguay are favourites, but Im cautious, you never know with this guys.
Its a battle of the guays
Has anyone ever won a major tournament by not winning a single game?
Has never happened. In the first half of the century they usually had a play off .And havent found any data from then forward.
Argentina was close in 1990, i think they won 2 and got to the final of the WC
