In the past decade? Selling to H&G, easy.

Player wise? Selling Xabi is obvious. I'd also argue not getting David Silva, Dani Alves or Florent Malouda were big misses, not necessarily mistakes per se.

Our biggest mistake , not having the youth academy ( that we have now ) in place years ago ,if we'd had the correct structure in place then our 18 titles would have been increased

Moores probably wanted what was best for the club, but could not be arsed doing it, but the worst mistake was allowing the Two American cowboys into our club!.

DAVID f***in MOORES and his SPAWN Rick Parry. I remember someone having a go at me on a forum about 3 years ago when I was banging on about how destructive Parry was to our club it became a bit of an obsession but I was right wasn't I.

The biggest mistake for me was allowing our owners to become myopic...

So much has chnged yet they still stood still. They thought the had nothing to do and we would always be top - staying still whilst around others became global marketing machines. God only knows what where we would have been if in the early years of the prem we had and new stadium / improvemens to 90,000, improved media / commercial management and squad developement. Christ were debatibly the biggest club in Europe without any work over the last 20 years...

By the time they realised and panicked our club was in the the hands of H&G and it could have been a lot worse than it has been...

For me allowing the owners to not listen and respect the club and its followers was the biggest mistake ever...

Firstly when Moores sold to H&G however I'm sure had he known the way in which the club would be dragged through the mud I'm sure he would have never dreamt of selling to them morons, and secondly I think the departure of Pako and Alonso really caused us problems!

But that's the past and we must now move on, thinking of starting a counter thread "The Biggest Improvement we ever made" examples of this could be appointing Kenny :)

I have had a rethink on the biggest mistakes we ever made and I reckon there is four mistakes that can never be emulated.
         1/We never cloned Bill Shankly.
         2/We never cloned Bob Paisley.
3/ We never cloned Joe Fagan.
4/ We never cloned Billy Liddell.
With those 4 Gentlemen leading our club we would be untouchable in any era.

I still have a picture in my head of Kenny scoring that goal against Chelsea when we did the double. Its off topic but Keegan did us a big favour when he left.

The biggest mistake for me was not going back to our most successful manager of the last generation sooner. Kenny was managing other clubs while we were poncing around with Houllier, we should have got him back on board then. The contrast already between Kenny and all those who have attempted to follow in his footsteps couldn't be greater. That was a massive mistake.

And to think I thought he was past it too. What a pleb.

Appointing Greame Souness as a Manager would something that I  would like to erase from LFC history.  Great player but as a manager not nearly good enough especially for the then best team in the world.

      For me thats the one.

Gerard's decision not to sign Ronaldo and Quaresma for 12million both were offered to by sporting and the following year manure get Ronaldo for 16million and sell him for 80million

I was very glad we didn't sign Ronaldo. If we had Ronaldo, I truly believe that Hicks and Gillet would still be here. They'd use the 80 million and refinance the loan with that money.

Biggest mistake was hiring Souness and selling to H & G.

I think if we had other owners than David Moores Souness may have been more succesful. As it was Moores wa sso in Awe of Souness he gave him free reign to go through the club with impunity.
