Being a Swansea lad, I keep in touch with what's going on there. Indeed, it's difficult not to.

A fan posted the following on Michael Laudrup.

I remember watching him play, but I didn't realise he was this good.

Absolute genius passer and playmaker, with feet to die for.

      I hope you enjoy.

If he manages as well as he played, I think the Swans may win everything next season! :D

Seriously? I genuinely did not know that. Definitely one that got away from us then.

      What a player!

Yep, ended up moving to Juve instead. He was due to sign for Liverpool around 1984 on a 3 year contract, but Liverpool at the last minute changed the contract to 4 years and laudrup decided not to join.

Ah well then, not enough commitment perhaps.

Still though, what a signing that would have been.

Incidentally, I'm sure we only just missed out on Gascoigne and Le'Tissier as well.

It's not that there wasn't enough commitment - he spoke about it on those Greatest Players programme thats been shown on sky. I think his arl fella acted as his agent and they weren't happy about the way we decided to change the contract without speaking to them.

Gazza opted for the bright lights of London and Le Tissier couldn't be arsed moving from Southampton.

Had Dalglish not of resigned, we probably would have got Shearer too!
