Should be, BUT I don't think he will play 2morow, too soon.

      WELCOME "El Torro".

To right, one story on an issue/player is fine, we don't need endless, slightly different variations.

Newcastle fans are a bit pissed off they sold him for £6M on the eve of their game before Arsenal. They don't have another left back of note. They are however being suprisingly decent towards Enrique. Thought they would be more bitter towards him.

All pretty much saying good luck at a more ambitious club.

Probably agree with his comments made a few weeks back about the clubs direction I'd say.

Very happy to see this done. After our other targets were sewn up, this is the one i wanted done most as i think he's an extremely talented lad and should bring a lot to the team. If we can get in a center half before the window closes, then ill be a very happy lad with how this summer has gone.

      Welcome, Jose!

Very pleased that we have solved our left-back problem, looking forward to the new season more than ever.  I have to confess that I wasn't that keen at first, with the £12m+ that was initially quoted, especially with Clichy at £5-7m but we've got ourselves a right little player here for a bargain price.

      Cheers matey :)

We're looking good goin to the start of the season now we've secured a left back with a better fitness record than Aurelio and bags more ability than Konchesky, but F**k we need to lose some more deadwood players our squad is massive at the minute.

Good to watch a few of those vids to build a better picture of the type of player we're getting. He looks like he'll be a good acquisition doesn't he?

      - First thing you notice is how rapid he is, I didn't realise he was so quick. He's got great recovery pace and we'll need that given our Cb's are pretty pedestrian. I'm guessing he's up there with Jonno and downing as the quickest players at the club.

      - He deffo likes to get forward and he looks like he's got great awareness and good passing ability.

      - We will be VERY dangerous down the left hand side with both Enrique and Downing in tandem.

      - He doesn't like to simply lump the ball when under pressure does he!?! I reckon that will get us into trouble on a few occasions this season and on other occasions it'll get us a goal.

      - He's VERY one-footed, I don't think he'll be playing much right-back!

Comolli: Enrique will be our last signing of the summer

      Published 16:06 12/08/11 By MirrorFootball

Director of football Damien Comolli says Jose Enrique will be Liverpool's final signing of the transfer window.

"You can never say never, but it is likely," he said when asked whether there would be any more arrivals.

"I am convinced we were right in what we wanted to do. We've strengthened all the areas we wanted to strengthen with quality.

"I think there is a lot of debate about transfer fees paid - not just with Liverpool but throughout the Premier League.

"But if we have signed a player it is because we were happy to pay the price. For us it is not even a debate.

"We are very happy to have done the business we have done, we think it makes a lot of sense from a footballing point of view and makes a lot of sense from a financial point of view."

On Enrique's qualities Comolli told liverpoolfc.tv: "I am very pleased to have signed arguably one of the best left-backs in the Premier League.

"He is a very quick, strong and powerful athlete with good technique.

"He knows the league and what to expect and what to expect when you play for Liverpool; we know he is going to come in and hit the ground running.

"We think if he does well here, he could be a candidate for the Spanish national team."

Midfielder Alberto Aquilani, who has been linked with a move numerous times, has been given the squad number 15 but left-back Emiliano Insua's future appears to have been decided by Enrique's arrival as he has not been given one.

That means we won't get another CB! I hope we don't regret it.

Think we are still likely to sign a center back, don't you worry.

Oh no you got me mate   What a funny story :lmao:

By the way, competition for staring XI is good for Fabio and other candidates too. It gets them on their toes to be ready when they're called on duty.

      Roberto Martinez on Jose Enrique:

      Quote
Jose Enrique learned much in the championship and is fully adapted to the Premiership; he’s is perhaps the best left back in the Premier League.

Was faultless today, was really strong on the ball and made a couple of good passes linking up well with Downing and Suarez.

Only thing he didn't do was stop some crosses in the first half.

      Other than that, good debut.
