      Borriello paired with Fulham

      Tuesday 23 August, 2011

Four foreign clubs are showing an interest in Marco Borriello after he was made available for transfer by Roma.

Although the Giallorossi were forced to complete his €10m signing from Milan this summer, after last term’s loan, he doesn’t fit in with the plans of boss Luis Enrique.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Premiership club Fulham are interested in the Italian international striker.

It’s understood that English sides Liverpool and Tottenham are also monitoring the player’s situation, as are Paris Saint-Germain.

Definitely one for the rumour thread, not enough in it for its own thread.

I don't particularly want him given the crop we've already got.  He's a very good player, but he is a worker - a grafting player cut from a similar mold as Kuyt.  I think we could use another creator, but we already have plenty of workers in Kuyt, Hendo, Spearo, Lucas, Enrique, and Downing.  If we are going to bring in another forward, I want someone with some classy skills who can change a game with a single turn, touch, pass, or dribble..... Borriello isn't that player.

According to "Il Tempo", we have been in contact with AS Roma over Borriello, but only in case the Bellamy deal doesn't go through ...

And most importantly, LFC signing him would make gazza31 very unhappy ...

I really, really, like him as a footballer. He's a true poacher. Very clever footballer and instinctive.

If he comes in on loan i will be delighted. If he comes on a two year deal, i'll be just as happy.

I think he can. He has a style adaptable to any league. The only thing with him is that each of our forwards right now attribute to creating something while he isn't one to do that, he simply gets in positions after letting his midfield do the work.

Still, who knows what role he'll play but i'd be delighted to have someone like him. His only concern is scoring.
