His best was a few years ago now though.

I'd certainly have Eto'o over Higuain, and in the past even over Rooney. Eto'o actually was on great form last season. But he is getting on, and the Russian league won't exactly get the best out of him. And Rooney is still to reach his peak.

I agree that he's inconsistent but when Rooney is on form, he's easily the third best player in the world.

At the moment, he's the most on form player in the world. Any non-biased fan can see that he's been class this season. Best player in the league so far this season.

Also I see Suarez and Rooney are on a par in terms of work rate, creativeness and ability but I think Rooney is slightly more clinical in front of goal which just puts him above Suarez slightly.

Yes, football is full of opinions and that is good. Respect your opinion but I disagree with it.

Can't judge a player just on his best games though can you, it's about how a player consistently performs.

I'm afraid at the moment I would rate Rooney ahead of our Suarez but I think Suarez could prove to be as good in the next year of two .
