I expect our attitude to be spot on but I am starting to worry about certain players being played when form says they shouldnt be.

yep, me too. i'm all for keeping faith in players to reap the rewards of their natural talent later, but some players need the occasional warning to jolt them out of complacency.

i personally thought bellamy had earned a start but then again carroll looked like he was working hard for the team and was a bit more positive. i'd say kenny took a calculated gamble on winning against wolves at home even if the geordie didn't play well. probably sees carroll contributing far more then bellamy in the long run.

weak link is still skrtl for me and it's not a form or confidence issue, he's simply too slow and doesn't have carra's ability to read the game to make up for it.

Perfecto! This will be my team. Spearing will provide us with those crunching tackles. And, that midfield will help the defense, which seems to be lacking in confidence at the moment. Hope this team does the job for us and we don't play Stevie, which in turn might actually put him out of contention for England (In any case, he might not be selected) and keep him fresh and r(o)aring to go against the Scums.

I was bored in college today so scribbled down my team for the derby, and this was exactly it.

We have some potentially nasty bas**rds in our team for a change, this match could be a goody.

I think Gerrard will get a bit longer on Saturday with a view to start the game against the Mancs after the international break. Hopefully England leave him out of their squad.

I'll go for the team Racer posted. Kuyt's got a great record against them so start him and Carroll did enough last weekend to warrant another start.

Think we'll win this 3-0, Suarez and Carroll before Gerrard comes off the bench to finish it.

Expecting an entirely different type of game at Everton away as what we had against Wolves at home.

Playing Lucas and Spearing seems very negative - even away from home against the blueshite. 

I'd argue Spearo is a more tidy passer than Adam. From what we've seen. Adam either attempts a glory ball or he misplays a short pass. Maybe Spearo isn't as creative, but he keeps the ball better.

Lucas and Spearo seems negative from the outside but it's not, IMO.

Carroll, despite playing well against Wolves won't have much effect on Everton's big centre backs so bellamy is the best option for me with luis. henderson isn't a winger. simple as, so kuyt in for him. Gerrard has to come in, as it is everton. I know Skrtel and Carra have become a liability but i don't think Coates would cope.
But of course Kenny is going to play henderson and adam so me saying this makes no difference.

Spearing and Lucas is very good for us in a derby game. Won't get run over and won't take the bitters' bullshit when the tackles come flying in recklessly.

Carroll will torment Jagielka and releasing Suarez in the hole will give him more space to run a muck.

Kuyt has to play. His record against them in fantastic.

We need to add steel in the midfield so out goes Adam in comes Spearo alongside Lucas, too early for Gerrard yet, also i would give Hendo a rest and play Kuyt on the right in front of young Kelly, Downing in front of Enrique on the left and have Suarez and Carroll up top, Kuyt always plays well against Blueshite plus his experience in derby games will prove invaluable,

It might seem negative at first JD, but it allows our attacking players to confidently get forward when needed, knowing the two lads in the centre will chase down any resulting break, much like against Brighton. Under pressure we can then use Kuyt and Suarez's energy to close down player. For me it's about a balance.

City play two holding players, Silva, Johnson, Aguero, Dzeko as an attacking four.  We'd have Kuyt Downing Suarez Carroll going at them.

Kuyt on the right in place of Henderson & Spearing/Gerrard in the middle replacing Adam for me.
