You could probably make an argument that Lucas has been a bit unlucky in that he occupied the position that Gerrard switched to. Mignolet, Suarez and Sturridge would be safe, but pretty much everyone else in the team bar Henderson would come under the severest of pressure had Brendan earmarked THEIR position as a potential Gerrard switch. Henderson would only survive because the captain no longer has the legs too.

I am not so sure Mignolet's position would be too safe either mate :D

I believe that Gerrard could still play in any position he likes and be world class at it.

What's the deal with his yellow card status? Just has to get through the next 2 games unyellowed and that wipes the slate clean?

I believe so. Just hope he doesn't do anything stupid against West Ham to get booked.

He won't, you could see him being very careful in the last 2 games. He knows what the situation is and will act accordingly.

No way. Well, technically yes, because he wont retire before it. :P I don't feel he will abandon his post as England Captain so soon, he'll want to play in the next Euros. Retire a Liverpool and England Captain and legend.

I have to admit I'm a bit concerned about the yellow card issue. Just have the bad feeling that he will miss the City game or the Chelsea game ....

If he does he does and I'm sure that's how Brendan is looking at it at this point.

I think if he'll does it'll be a "Take one for the team" kind of tackle.  Cheeky ankle clip to stop someone going through on goal etc.

Many people have been served a huge slice of humble pie by Gerrard this season.

I was one of the ones in the minority who advocated, and could see him take on the DM role rather than an attacking one. I think his legs are best suited to the role he's in now and never bought into the old cliche that follows him around like a Batman cape; that he isn't disciplined or intelligent enough to play the role - or the latest round of rubbish, he isn't that good defensively.  :D

I think he's had the best season he's had for a number of years and credit goes to both him and Rodgers.

Well done Stevie, now go and lift that fvcking trophy!

      100% agree.
He has totally adjusted to and grown into the new deeper role and has been fantastic.
It will give him and us a few more years of watching Stevie do what he does best...give his all for the Mighty Reds.

For sure lester and it shouldn't have come as a surprise for two reasons. One, it's Stevie F***ing G; if he decided to play left back, he'd be the best left-back at the club and two, Roy Hodgson had been playing him in that role, for England, with success for some while now.

Best footballer of his generation by a country mile, in my opinion.

What an assist for the first pen, outstanding pass but yet again the pressure of the league title hanging over those 2 pens I can not possibly imagine that pressure after the career he's had. Balls of steel Stevie, huge respect mate, huge! My legs would have gone to jelly in that situation it just surely has to be this year, surely.

      Well in lad.

I read that Gerrard's scored 10 goals in his last 13 games.

That's outstanding considering it's been mostly penalties. Stevie's got ice running through his veins. The man is the definition of clutch.

      Totally agree.

Between the 60 & 80th mins he just sat back, slowed the game down and stroked the ball around with such composure and control. Was fantastic to watch

A few years ago he used to raise his game to crazy levels to win us finals, now he's raising his game for months to drive us to a league title.

      What a man.
