So happy for the Captain....when he scored, I wanted to post "suck that all u haters", but I couldn't be arsed because I was so happy for him. Hope he plays forward and keeps going on scoring.

Stevie still  showed that he is still a quality player, as shown last night. He probably needs the odd game off now and again to recharge his batteries. The captain could well turn in one or two man of the match performances.

Only if he has a quick striker with good movement up front so he can play his quick through balls. With Lambert up front Stevie looks to be the better option as he provides more of a goal threat.

Hmm I don't know, I personally think Gerrard would be easier to defend against. Coutinho can do everything Gerrard can do in CAM a little better apart from shoot from range. Just my personal opinion, but at least we have the options in the squad to have this debate!

No, it probably wasn't rocket science. That said, had the boss not moved Stevie into the holding mid slot last season (to the dismay of almost everyone on this forum) and dropped Lucas, we wouldn't have almost won the title either. Football's a simple game alright, but it isn't THAT simple.

I don't buy that to be honest because virtually everything was going through Suarez, where ever Gerrard played I still think we would have been there abouts.

Come on guys, he was the second best player in the league last season playing deep. Difference now is he doesn't have an outlet to ping a pass to or any movement in front of him.

His move forward may seem best but Stevie was superb in a deep role last season. Brendan had every right to keep him there given his performances.

He was fantastic in that position last season. Take away all our movement and attacking verve and he has struggled. It's not rocket science.

If they tempt Stevie away to America for a pointless season of football that will wipe him off the 'one club man' list, it will be a travesty. Liverpool wont be the same without Gerrard, but it'll feel a lot worse if he is sold instead of retires.
