We have a thread for England and I know like myself there are a lot of Irish people on this forum. So we can use this thread to discuss the Boys in Green!

Big game tonight and one we should be winning comfortably but I'm not unbelievably confident to be honest.
Anyway for those of you who dont know our line up is:

                              Given

          O'Shea. St.Ledger O'Dea Foley

          Duff.   Whelan. Andrews McGeady

                     Keane.   Doyle
      Diego LFC

So do I Diego. The FAI is a shambles. Lose tonight and you might as well close the whole operation. I'm not joking either. I hate how football is run in this country

I actually thought the title was going to be about a combined Irish team but that's a whole other debate.

Only realised today it is almost 10 years since Ireland qualified for a major tournament.

Also more interested in the Irish rugby team as well to be honest.

We all know that, in Doyle, Ireland have a striker who couldn't score in a whorehouse if he wanked twenty euro notes but (surely t'F**k) even he'll fill his boots tonight.  :-\

More to do with paperwork and a jobsworth Fifa official.

Rugby is a load of w*nk stupid sport. Ireland are awful trappatoni is so negative it drives me mad. Football as a hole is a joke in ireland. I go to loi games every week and its sad to see the lack of interest considering everyone claims to follow football in ireland.

Massive game Tuesday. Worried by the fact that a draw is enough for us because the way Trap sets up is defensive and knowing a draw is good enough the mentality could become very defensive.

Armenia have been scoring freely of late and I expect an edgy night. Hope we take the game to them and dont play for a draw.

Will Cox be called a cheat for his handball which lead to the 'keeper being sent off? Will there be an offer for the game to be played again? Nah.

Ireland have been pure pish and can count themselves lucky that first half. What I'm watching, from the Republic, is anything but football. Long ball sh*te.

Dunphy has a point. Our football is bad. We were lucky to win. Handball from Cox, who says in an interview the keeper didn't handle it outside the box.

Ah totally different from Henry's handball then; fair enough. Fair play to Cox after the game there; suggesting as he did, that the 'keeper hadn't handled it. Pity he hadn't told the ref that during the game; eh?  >:D

No probs racer, I'll admit to having a bit of a wind up and yanking the old chain there.  ;D

Like I've often said (most recently over Rodwell's sending off) sh*t happens and what's done is done. I truly hope the Republic stuff whoever they get next, get to the euro's proper and do well.

sh*t does indeed happen. We lost this group against Russia at home. Our football is far to conservative and as a result our best young players are getting F**k all game time because Trap won't place any trust in them. He loves the system. Get it tight at the back and resort to long balls and wingers. Brutal to watch and far removed from the grass roots football where we have seen youth teams improve to modern systems of play.

I was at the game last night i thought we were better than against andorra but my god we are sh*t. But we have promising players and trap wont play them? Kevin doyle has been awful the last few games. And im glad hes suspended for the next game Because at least shane long and cox will prob get a run together. McGeady is absolutely terrible and how he can play kelly ahead of ciaran clarke i dont no. I could go on all day about his decisions but i wont. Trap has to go but the clueless fuckers that run the fai (john delaney) make as bad if not worse decisions than trap. Football in ireland is a farce from top to bottom.

I just can't wait to see Greg Cunningham back fit and trying to get into the team/squad. A loan move in January could do him wonders. Him + Coleman as the full backs with O' Shea + Dunne as the CBs would be an very good back 4.

My mate got 3 tickets for free from his friend. I wanted to go with my 5 other friends first but we couldnt get the tickets.

And all Irish fans, when you have bought a ticket for Estonia sector, then you must be quite quiet because you will be thrown out when you come with Irish symbolics and stuff. There are rumours all over the media that a lot of Irish have bought tickets to Estonia sector, so just a little reminder to you :)

      Can't see that happening!

Would be the same then if Liverpool ever drew an Estonian team. Liverpool fans would be all over the ground and wouldn't be quiet.

I expect the Irish to be the same.

Be aware of Ireland, the land of your fathers will come and eat all your potato and steal all his good luck charms, leprechauns fear us because we are in Estonia, and we stare into his ladies boobies.

Well the Boobs part is probably right.

I don't believe nobody got that, it actually reads:

Beware Ireland, the land of our fathers will come and eat all your potato and steal your lucky charms, fear us leprechauns because we are Estonia and we shall stare at your ladies boobies.

just trying to think of a team for next summer, with players developing well enough hopefully.

                           Given
      Coleman O'Shea Dunne Cunningham
      Duff     McCarthy Whelan   McGeady
                   Keane     Long

St. Ledger, Ward, Andrews, Hunt, Doyle, Walters all decent national players who can come in too.

I take it you weren't allowing for your opponents finishing a game with Eleven men. It's not just as easy when that happens.
