       Reds set the example

Liverpool's Ability Counts team enjoyed a busy first day after touching down in Switzerland on Tuesday afternoon ahead of the European Disabled football tournament.

After arriving in Zurich, the squad were transferred to their hotel before heading out to the picturesque training pitches in Ruggell to undergo their first session ahead of their defence of the crown they won last year.

Later in the evening, the Reds were treated to an all expenses paid slap-up Italian meal in Bad Ragaz, courtesy of Trocadero pizzeria.

Meanwhile, Hanspeter Rothmund, head of event organisers Football Is More, has outlined the reasons he believes Liverpool's Ability Counts programme sets the benchmark that other clubs across the world would do well to follow.

He said: "I have worked for more than six years now with Liverpool FC.

"I remember the first time I spoke with Bill Bygroves (community manager) and I was so impressed.

"When I see all of the children and the people there, it warms my heart so much. I think they are the right club to build a relationship with our foundation.

"I can say they are perfect. They are an absolute role model and I hope some other clubs can look at them and start to do similar programmes."

Here's the best of our snaps from their first day in Switzerland

Well that annoying more people doing what I'll never be able to do...play for Liverpool.

Good luck to them. Maybe they can win the first trophy of the season.

Fatty on the right finished his food before anyone else haha - reminds me of Oliver Twist, "please sir, I want some more".

I think it's great what the club are going, I feel sorry for them too. Great to see the club doing everything they can.

Looked like they had an awesome time.

Fantastic stuff. Another example of LFC being embedded in the community in a way that many clubs fail to even consider.

This may sound terrible, but I genuinely thought the bald one was Shelvey...
