Really interesting stuff form that IGN vid

      Indeed.

I'd be stoked if it was Vercetti again. My favorite character from my favorite GTA. Boom!

One thing just regarding release date - Rockstar have Max Payne 3 due for release March 6th next year, so unfortunately (though i expected it) us GTA bums will have to wait until at least July I reckon. Plenty of time to play through all the GTA's on PS2 which i think im gonna do again :D

1st June 2012 release date apparently.

      Not 100% confirmed though.

San Andreas is my favourite game of all time. I think this has the potential to top that.
Would be too early to say that.

Grand Theft Auto V's Lead Character Comes to Light?

There's been all manner of rumours, hearsay and speculation whizzing around the web since the Grand Theft Auto V debut trailer landed a couple of weeks ago, and usually, we don't buy into that sort of thing unless it looks especially juicy or credible, and this latest rumour could have a bit of weight behind it.

It's regarding GTA V's lead character, who many assume will be the trailer's narrator. Apparently, it's the voice of Law & Order star Ned Luke, who's credited with the role of Albert De Silva on the GTA V IMDb page. This is backed up by a tweet from actor Jimmy Taenaka, which reads: "my fellow thespian Ned Luke is the lead voice and profile in the upcoming game by Rockstar Grand Theft Auto 5! Way to go Ned! Wholly Molly!"

Taenaka later took back his statement, claiming that he, like the majority of fans, simply recognised the voice, and rather uncanny likeness of actor Luke and the suited mobster character featured in the trailer (pictured). So, while it still looks as though Ned Luke is more than likely in the game in some capacity, it's not yet known whether he'll be in the lead role. Nothing has been confirmed by Rockstar since the trailer.

A second look at the IMDb page for GTA V, also lists Young Maylay as reprising his Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas role as Carl 'CJ' Johnson, but this is merely rumoured. Could we be seeing a return for Los Santos' original rags to riches hero though? Possibly. Again, nothing's been confirmed, so all of this is pure speculation for now.

      Bumpski.

So almost a year to the day from when I posted that bloody trailer, finally an announcement that there will be lots of info coming next month. Rockstar posted this piece of artwork on their Facebook page along with this caption: "Lots of info coming next month. Get ready. For now, enjoy this first official artwork release from Grand Theft Auto V."

Get excited, GTA fans. Finally we're (hopefully) getting somewhere!

      Does indeed. Super excited!

Just noticed the old games are on the Mac App store. Might need to get myself reacquainted with San Andreas in anticipation ;D

I actually can't wait for this game.

Enjoy playing GTA like games but I do think they could improve the graphics a bit.

Never been overly fussed about the graphics, games should be fun, something that GTA 4 wasn't for me.

I didn't think GTA IV was a total write-off, in fact I spent a hell of a lot of time on it. Might even get back on it when we know the release date of V. It lacked the character of some of the previous games so I understand why some don't rate it but it was still very playable and had the usual, huge fuckabout factor  ;D

I loved nicking that Police chopper with the miniguns on it and going on the rampage  >:D

Hated the last GTA but looking forward to this one. Although I don't think it will beat San Andreas, that's the best one by far I thought!

I take it you weren't a fan of the first one? :P

That was as simple as could be graphic wise but the best by far imo.  A gangster car stealing version of Sensi soccer. :)

Game Informer magazine has announced their next issue will be running a huge 18-page spread on the game. Looks like we'll know a hell of a lot more in a week or two!

No no .. I'm not overly fussy when it comes to graphics but I was just thinking that if GTA was to be voted all time best PS3 game .. its graphics should look a bit better.

Well ... I've only played GTA 2 (the one with the bird's eye view right?) briefly, GTA 3, GTA San Andreas and GTA Vice City and yes, I agree that San Andreas is the best one I've played. Thoroughly enjoyed the game that I kept on playing 2 players even though I've finished the game.
