Stoke 1-2 Liverpool (In game and Post Match Cup Fever)

I wasn't talking about whether their goal was luck in itself, just meant there were lucky to be ahead.

I know, and I disagree

I really want to believe that we'll have the mental fortitude to come back in the second half with as much energy and just put them away. But I'm having a hard time doing that. I think we're good for another twenty shots, but two goals? Not so sure.

1st half as I see it:

* Plenty of possession - good but poor finishing and a bad mistake cost us a healthy lead.

* Nice interchanging throughout - Suarez & Carroll linking well.

* Lucas and wee Jay more than a match for the Stoke 'two' - not surprising really.

* Maxi & Coates look very ring rusty which is understandable, I suppose. Still not sold on Henderson drifting wide.

* Agger - his majestic best and (apart from one monumental F**k up) the defence as a whole has looked solid enough in open play.

* All in all not too disheartening - and not too much I'd change, play wise. More composure in front of the onion bag and we'll take this.

Stoke will just park the bus in the second half

This is the problem at Stoke.

I would bring Bellamy on for Maxi early second half, maybe Adam for Henderson.

Ball bouncing on the left touchline, Coates goes to claim it but lets it bounce and Walters takes it from him, sprints down the left and cuts it back on the head of Jones who angles his header across the goal and goes past Pepe.

Coates "gives" the ball to Walters, walters can then easily run down the wing and cross it to jones, who easily heads the ball in the back of the net.

Liverpool will win 2-1! For once we have to get some good fortune.

A clearance from there keeper to the left side, coates did not clear it when he had the chance. the ball was stolen, their player run and crossed it low and jones head it to the right low corner.
