Lucas was an absolute beast today.
Pepe was either brilliant, though my heart stopped a few times when he came out to tackle City's strikers!
Wish Skrtel's effort had gone in - so close!
Suarez was kicked out of the park - he's suffering what Maradona went through during his time in Napoli - defenders cannot stop him, so they kick him down! He was still superb though!
Adam - some nifty moves/passes/tackles.
Kuyt was great - he has fantastic control and the ability to turn sharply with good control of the ball and almost got another 1-yard goal - which he specialises in!
Dagger/Skrtel - great defensive pairing - long may this partnership continue.
If only either Carroll's header, or Suarez's rebound shot or even Downing's shot gone in!!
I think I figured out Downing's problem - it's not him, its Enrique. When Enrique goes up, Downing's role becomes redundant, and is left with little to do and there seems to be little synergy there in that side of the pitch and Downing becomes anonymous. There were times I was hoping Enrique would stick to being a defender and let Downing do the winger's work - and not let Micah, Milner take the better of him.
Henderson perhaps needs to spend some time in the reserves and sort himself out while Kuyt/Maxi/Bellamy take on his role. A bit of a headless chicken sometimes - but once he calms down he'll get there.
But overall, a draw, and what a performance by the Reds. We were superb, and not once this season were City taught a lesson like they were today. Proud of the Reds today - great crowd at Anfield too. Pity about Mario's moment of madness - but he is utterly insane - but great for football!
How many times have you seen City bring on an extra defender to shore up their defence this season? Says it all really.
I loved Kenny's gesturing of a drink to Mancini at the end of a game - great sportsmanship, life's more than a game of football, and sometimes, we need to recognise that.
Now let's march on to Stamford Bridge and beat the chavs!
