Ho Ho Ho!

Well once again I am touting the LIVERPOOL SANTA DASH. All good fun and a bloody great laugh. Just a 3 mile Fun Run around the streets of Liverpool! Missed out on the World Record again to Las Vagas. The aim this year is 10,000 runners. Come on! give it a go, Sprint, Run, Jog, Walk or even crawl, it all counts.

Really want to do it, but the problem is getting up to Liverpool for the 4th, then back home before monday morning, and then back up again before Christmas.

Almost christmas, goes so quick.

There's only one present I want though, and I'll be getting that very soon

Off to get my suit tomorrow, no tee-shirts this year but gloves!

Should be a laugh.  Will have to get sorted next time I'm in town.  Well in for reminding me.  The 4th of December it is.

Dead easy this year. Not ran since the Manchester 10K in May, but have been going to Hot Yoga to keep fit. (I believe a certain Mr. Gerrard goes too!)

Really cold and windy at the start, and to compound this, the Army flew a helicopter in! Rained a few times, but I have to say, considering the weather, which I think was the worst for a very long time, the turnout was excellent.

Well done to all, and the dogs too, think I saw 3.

Liverpool Santa Dash: Thousands run through city streets

More than 7,000 people have taken part in the annual charity Santa Dash through Liverpool city centre.

Former Liverpool FC player Alan Kennedy, boxer David Price and Big Brother winner Craig Phillips all dressed up as Father Christmas to take part in the event.

The 5km (2.7mile) race started at Liverpool's Pier Head and finished outside the Town Hall.

Many Everton supporters dressed in blue Santa suits to take part in the race.

There was also a mini dash for children aged under 12.

'Strength of community'
The 2010 event won the World Santa Challenge title beating a similar event in Las Vegas by about 2,000 entries.

Craig Phillips said: "This is the eighth year we've done it and each year it's got bigger and bigger.

"It just shows the strength of community in Liverpool - everybody comes together for big events like this."

One of the participants Martin McElroy, 34, from Speke was running for Wirral's Claire House Children's Hospice in memory of his daughter Beth who died earlier in the year.

He said: "I'll be doing something between a walk and a jog. I'm just aiming to get myself around the course. This is all for Beth today."

7,000. As I said considering the weather, that's a huge amount.

Slight delayed start - the weather wasn't particularly brilliant but quite enjoyed it.  Had no idea of the route as I hadn't looked at the map so it seemed to fly by - just turned past a pub and there was the finish line!

Think I did about 26 minutes which wasn't too bad with the weather and taking a few snaps on the way.

Look forward to next years race run.

Looked like it was majorly struggling.  I was a little bit scared when it went overhead!

The 5km (2.7mile)

Looks like the cuts at the BBC are taking an effect.  5km is still 3.1 miles.

They say it's 5K, but year before last, which was the same route, I had my Sat Nav running watch on, and it said it was 2.7 miles from start to finish.

26 mins is a good going, around 33 mins for me, (again).

Well, I was running as part of a group so we were trying to stick together. Therefore, I am not taking my time seriously. Loved seeing all the dogs with bells on. Similarly, was quality to see all the Santa's going over the flyover on Dale Street. Can't believe how many bitter blues there are, however, A lot of Blue Santa suits going round plus, the funniest thing I saw was some guy hanging a "Santa is a Blue" from a building on Dale Street. It is fair to say though, the reds completely outnumbered the blues. Well in to everyone who took part or came out to support. I had a great day.
