Demba Ba?

What you reckon about a Jan bid for Newcastle's Demba Ba? He's banging them in on a regular basis.

Or do you think he'll turn out like Carroll, and struggle with our system?

In answer to your question / suggestion. I think he is a fantastic finisher and I'd be happy for him to come here but unfortunately Newcastle would probably command a stupid fee as he hasn't been with them long and also, he failed a medical at Stoke not long ago. The risk in signing him has paid off for both West Ham and Newcastle but it may still be just that, a risk. His knee could go at any time.

I'd prefer stop looking for 6 months sensations and bring top quality players

He's really impressed me of late. It could be he's just on a crest of a wave right now, but he's only 26, big, strong, no nonsense, and would love to play for a 'bigger' club. One thing though, I never knew he failed a medical, what were the details?

He failed a medical at Stoke City so West Ham signed him instead. They then sold him to Newcastle.
