its not like he has forgot how to play the game. everytime i watched him play this season he is played decent. all he need is a confidence boost and regular playing time. He has atleast 3 years in him.

Yeah, he has 4 goals and 7 assists in 17 games this season (don't know how many of them coming from the bench). He's not Kaka of 2007 but he's far from finished. Injury is my only concern, but then I'd leave it to our doctors. Seriously, I don't want to be a pain in the ass, but if we spend £20M in a 27 year old Downing, Kaka for £22M is a no brainer.

As a comparison, Ozil this season has 2 goals and 8 assists in 22 games. Oh and 1 of his goals and 2 of his assists were in some rubbish Copa del Rey match. As much as I like Ozil (I really do), Kaká is a far superior footballer

I'd eat my hat if we signed Kaka. I'd have to go and buy a hat first, because I don't have one, but I'd eat it after that.

The money we'd make from shirts alone would go toward recouping some of the transfer fee. He may be getting on, but if his injuries are behind him he's well worth looking at.

The ones who told us it was ok to sign Kewell and Degen?

The ones who maybe advised Kenny/Comolli that we could let Aquilani and Meireles go, since we had Gerrard?

All tongue in cheek, but after all that (not to mention the horse placenta fiasco!), I sometimes think flipping a coin would be just as effective advice! :D

I'd still give him a go, certainly on a loan, then depending on price.

The worst is it doesn't work out (like many transfers), but if he shows anything near his best...!

Here's some trivia. Kaka means poo in Lithuanian. But I'd be very happy if we signed him.

This story is much like Kaka himself these days, it has no legs.

And yet would still give most of our midfield the runaround!

I'm not so sure. Obviously a fabulous player in his day, but would he cope with the rough and tumble of the Premiership at his age or would he follow in the footsteps of our last fleet footed central midfield craftsman?

He never seemed to have much difficulty against EPL clubs to be fair, was fantastic against us in two UCL finals and single handily destroyed Man Utd once

He did, but that was a while ago. Also playing against English teams in Europe with European referees is very different to playing against them in the Premiership. Not saying he couldn't do it as I haven't seen him play for ages, but I'd be surprised if he could.

He knows, but he likes to argue with me. Since I have stopped arguing with him, he is not feeling very well.

True, but he was able to unlock the far more stingy defences in the Serie A. Again, a long time ago, but it's tough to be a playmaker like he was in Italy.

European player of the year, world player of the year six of one and half a dozen of the other, just proving a point, accolades count for F**k all, when switching clubs/leagues.

The only way we would have a chance of getting Kaka is if no other club is after him because the clubs that will go after him can offer him Champions League football either this season or next season. Since we are neither in Europe this season or certain of a place next season then i very much doubt our chances of getting him. Would be cracking if we did though!!

Not seen him play properly since he moved. From the sounds of it we'd be signing an ageing, injury-prone player on massive wages in the hope he maybe comes close to his previous form. When you put it like that, no thanks. Queue being told I'm wrong about all of that...

He has actually been pretty good when he's played this year, but he's sat behind Mesut Ozil on Real Madrid's bench, which is one hell of a player to be sat behind. No shame in that one.

Well no shame in being sat behind Ozil for most players but the Kaka of AC Milan was better than Ozil. The fact he is behind him now tells me he isn't that player anymore so my argument that we'd be paying him a huge amount for him to maybe get close to his former self is still relevant.

As I noticed some wag has asked how many shirts will we sell with Bent on them, you've got to ask how many we'd sell with Kaka on the back. :)

Loads of Kaka barely any with Bent on them. You'd have a tough time finding people in Memphis with 'Gay' on the back of their basketball shirts.

      Joke floating about before.

Solid striker, but would he struggle, like Carroll, in our system?
