This is the one that I would put money on happening. Seems like it is setting up perfectly for us to swoop in and make the deal.

Probably means it's true which is a shame.

I'm fascinated by BR's reaction in the press conference.

Has anyone posted that video online yet? I much prefer watching his interviews to reading them.

I haven't seen it anywhere. Only going by what I've read others say.

Meanwhile, this from Ben Smith at the BBC:

      Ben Smith ‏@BenSmithBBC
Talks between Walcott and Wenger today ended with #AFC resolved not to sell the player this window. Contract still not signed.

      Ben Smith ‏@BenSmithBBC
Talks between Wenger & Walcott described as amicable and there's now a commitment and hope a new deal will be signed at #AFC

Walcott not signing now but will probably stay.

Telegraph still think we will bid along with City.

Not signing a contract but will stay. Basically he wants his money or he's off for even less in 6 months and zero in 12 months. The ball is in Arsenal's court.

He,s going to stay at Arsenal. This is just the same hissy fit that Rooney played when he wanted more money.......nothing to see here.

Walcott wants to play through the middle and Wenger keeps him out wide.Maybe if Brendan sees him as a CF rather than a wide player we might have a chance.

Agree with the above, I'd rather take him for free next summer though when we've secured champions league football ;)

Where have we heard all this before? Oh yes, Wenger. In relation to who, you ask? Nasri, Fabregas, Adebayor plus Van Persie.

I have been vocal about my disapproval over targeting Walcott. I think he is a huge risk for such an inconsistent talent. I actually feel for Wenger on this one. Time and time again he has players being greedy and leaving the Gunners. I never like to see that.

      Brendan Rodgers - Hearts Preview

Watch at 3:23, love his reaction to that question!

For anyone having trouble hearing what the reporter asks, he says "you've been a big admirer of theo tho?"

Still think he'll stay at Arsenal for now, but you never know what happened between him and Wenger today. He may have expressed a big desire to join us and Wenger may be prepared to sell him, but  by saying he is staying, it will increase offers for him.

Atleast at this point in the window, we don't have to wait long to find out.

Still think it's worth checking Arsenal's resistance with a cheeky bid.

As I've said before, I think Arsenal want us to bid and that's why they're spreading the story that he's staying. Means we will likely have to up our offer for him.

Me too if we can sell Andy Carroll first but unfortunately I can the Chavs and/or Citeh doing the same thing and we might lose out.

Agreed. There could be a few Arsenal players with itchy feet after seeing their better players being sold each season. There's a chance that Theo would like a fresh start with a more 'ambitious' club and could force the issue.

@DanielHarris The question was about whether Walcott loves Arsenal like RVP did.

An official bid of around 12m (if we sell AC/JC) would still be interesting.

Theo could then turn round and say 'I'm not going to sign new deal so let me go now or in summer for nothing' - basically putting ball in Theo's court.

No real power for him to do that at the moment as no official bid. I'm sure Arsenal would rather have 12m opposed to nothing in summer
