      http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-league/chelsea-liverpool-tracking-30m-hitman

Chelsea and Liverpool are both reportedly keeping tabs on Valencia striker Roberto Soldado.

The 26-year-old has been in fine form this season, and has found the net 16 times in 22 appearances in all competitions for Los Che.

According to The People, Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has identified Soldado as a potential January acquisition, while Liverpool have also been tracking him.

It is also reported that the Spaniard has a release clause of £30 million written into his contract, so Chelsea or Liverpool would have to spend big to land him.

Both Villas-Boas and Liverpool counterpart Kenny Dalglish are said to be in the market for goalscoring reinforcements this month with each manager set to see his frontline lose key players.

Chelsea star Didier Drogba is off to the Africa Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast, while Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is due to being an eight-game ban for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.

Not a bad Player pity bout the source.

Crap source sadly. He'd be my number one target, he's scored a bucket load of goals with Valencia and his all round game is good too.

Valencia will be more likely to sell compared to other clubs; due to their financial debt and they'd take a good fee, even if they hesitantly accept.

He'd be by far my number one target, great finisher, decent in the air and gets into great positions inside the box.

He's a consistent and proven goal scorer.

If it's worth spending out on Carroll for £35m, Henderson £20m, Downing £18m...

If the above players, were worth the gamble, surely he'd be a worth sliding a cheeky £25m - £30m bid?  Would be a much better fit than Podolski, or even Bent.  I'm sold on him.

Been a fan of his for a while. He is razor sharp and is a finisher in the truest sense of the word. Have to echo what everyone else is saying, pity about the source. Someone find out where Commoli lives and throw a stone through his window with Soldado's name on a piece of paper stuck to it

Much more the type of forward I like, quick, mobile and smart with his finishes. Would be an excellent option and I think would form a great partnership with Luis I just don't believe we're truly in for him, hoping to be proved wrong.

Well all 3 of those are world class players so i don't see the problem with buying their top players if we see a chance. Excellent player Soldado is, would love him here, would bag so many goals.

Finding his feet with Valencia  Soldado has racked up an impressive 16 goals so far. With an estimated £20million price tag, Reds owners Fenway Sports Group would need to dig deep, but if he delivered Champions League football it would be money well spent.

Think he would be well worth 20 mill great looking player!!!

      Brilliant.

As far as Soldado goes I haven't seen a great deal of him but from what I have seen be looks a very good player who scores plenty of goals.

      Liverpool: potential January transfer target

      Simon Rice
      Friday 06 January 2012

In the strike department, one of the players most consistently linked with Liverpool is Roberto Soldado of Valencia. Something of a journeyman in La Liga, and at one time of Real Madrid, the 26-year-old has been in sparkling form for his current club with 11 goals in the league this term. Liverpool have noticed as they've reportedly sent scouts to watch him on a handful of occassions. Valencia value Soldado at £20m, which might be a bit steep.

"Valencia value Soldado at £20m, which might be a bit steep". A BIT STEEP, if Simon Rice has actually seen Soldado play, I think he would rephrase that comment, particularly, when we are being linked with a £30 million offer for Bent. £20 million is very reasonable indeed.
