Anyhows... back to the game - I'm feeling really bullish about this - a bit of pace upfront, we'll scare the F**k out of thon ex-Blueshite and the goals will flow.  >:D

I'm usually adamant that Adam should start but I think today Henderson should play. Offers so much energy and will hold so Stevie can break forward.

I honestly believe a midfield three of Jay, Jordan and Stevie will have too much bite and work rate with no Yaya Toure and Silva.

I have a sneaky feeling we can nick this. :) And with the United FA Cup game three days after the second leg, we do not need to be burning too much energy chasing the return leg at home.

Am I mistaken, but has he not given us some dubious decisions in our favor as well as against?

He is sh*te, but both ways. Simply a bad ref, but i havent seen him as particulary biased

He was the one who sent off Degen and Carra at Craven Cottage in a 3-1 defeat. I remember Degen's being a ridiculous decision.

Can't remember any game where he's given us a couple of decisions but you maybe right.

Massive night really, its been too long since we have won a trophy and a good performance tonight will be a big step towards that..
They have issues with two massive players for them out in Kompany and Yaya plus also David Silva is a doubt (but im expecting to see him)
The 3-0 scoreline from the league game last week doesnt tell the story, we had chances in the game and were undone by uncharacteristic defending as of late we have look so solid.. all 3 can be blamed on ourselves. We need to cut out those errors tonight and look to impose ourselves on the game going forward and taking some of the chances we will no doubt create.

      Id go with

                           Pepe
      Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique

               Spearing Henderson
                       Gerrard

      Downing                  Bellamy
                       Carroll

Andy got nothing out of Kompany last week but if he can get himself on Savic tonight and we find him from wide he could have a field day. Stevie showed against Newcastle the type of service he can give him and Bellers was fantastic putting balls in against Oldham.

Im quietly confident we can get a positive result tonight but City showed in the second half sunday with a weakened side they are still very dangerous..

Going to have to give this a miss and hope to see we've come away with a valuable away win when I wake up the next morning.

We're capable of beating any team but we need to take our chances and have alot of luck.

kompany had caroll in his pocket last time, if caroll plays tonight an has a sh*t game he has no excuses against a city CB partnership missing their 2 keys CB's. i think if gerrard starts we can win, his bursting runs and positive play is key

I'd start Shelvey, possibly in place of Henderson.

I'd agree with you there, Res.

Henderson has shown his potential in glimpses, but Shelvey for me has earned his chance to keep his spot.
