      Classy player.

That goal had a rather significant bit of help to it from the defender, btw.  :D

Best laugh of the day was Biscan scoring and him not knowing what to do after he scored. Didn't know whether to celebrate or not and just had a bemused look on his grid.

      2016:

      Liverpool v Sunderland

In 2016, we had 4 home games at 3pm on a Saturday. I was at 2 of them, and this one against bottom of the table Sunderland was a home banker to go top with a win.

With a ticket for U5 in the new Main Stand, I got the opportunity to see what all the fuss was about. There was a fair bit of climbing to do, but gone were the days of climbing steps, and escalators between tiers was definitely a wow factor. The view of the game itself was similiar to the tv angle at the time.

As for the game itself, it was the usual attack v defence fare against Moyes. Coutinho went off injured after half an hour, Hendo had his usual game when playing against his former club, and Karius showed us how to turn a goal kick into a corner to defend. As the frustration grew after the break, as chance after chance peppered the visitors goal, Jürgen let everyone know that he wanted us to turn the volume up. Eventually, Divock broke the deadlock with 15 minutes to go, Milner wrapped it up with a penalty in injury time, we won 2-0 and we went top of the league. However, it didn't even last 3 hours as Chelsea beat Spurs in the late game to go back on top.

Never mind, Bournemouth and West Ham were the next 2 opponents for us to go back top. With just 1 point taken from the two games, our title challenge soon faded and we were 10 points behind within a few weeks. It would be August 2018 before we saw Position 1 by our name in the table again.

      Liverpool 1-0 mancs

After 10 years of waiting, a Danny Murphy free kick just before half time, finally see us beat the mancs away from home. It was the start of a 5 game winning streak against them and the first of 3 wins there in the next 4 years, all won by the same man, Danny Murphy.

It is mad. Although Danny agger seems a lifetime ago for me. I wish he stayed injury free.
But back to time... a friend of mine was talking TV and it shocked me that Charlie sheen was sacked from two and half men TEN YEARS AGO!

f***in hell, 20 years ago, look I know I’m getting old, i creak when I bend down and make this weird noise at the same time, but jeez, I remember that very night as if were last week, I know it’s a different sport but last week when SCOTLAND battered England at Twickers, a young lad Cameron Redpath made his debut for Scotland, well,I remember my old man telling me about a young man called Brian Redpath, his fookin dad, making his debut, at the time tho I didn’t know sh*te was brown but where the F**k did all the years go?

Made Gerard extra proud that night

Great memory for me. I had just moved my family back to the Washington DC area the day before and I took my very small children to a restaurant in Arlington, Virginia which at the time was one of the few places you could watch live football from England. The place was packed with Reds but the commentators kept bigging up the Birmingham Cinderella story and Trevor Francis. Great goal from old Robbie and I thought we were cruising to a win, but no question about the penalty and then we are in extra time. My kids are now fervently playing with toy cars under the table, oblivious to every roar from inside the place, two coming when Westerveld made saves from the spot kicks and we were the winners. Fun day.
