This might be a case of right player at the right time. January isn't a great time to get established top players to move club. There may be other deals in place or talks started for others for the summer.

The kid looks like he has talent and 7million isnt really a massive price to live up to, if it happens he will get games and chances to prove himself. If he is a finisher he could hit the ground running.

Cavani is a fantastic player, who knows. I'm sure if he was available though a lot of clubs would be interested.

He is an example of a player that won't be available in this window. But come the summer a deal is possible.

I think it all depends on what would be expected of him and when. If we're signing him to perform right away as our first striker, then it's a bad and very risky signing. If it's a signing for the future, then it could turn out to be a really good signing. People probably hope he can make an immediate impact, but don't get your hopes up. And I don't think it would be fair to expect that of him and put that kind of pressure on him either.

Just seen some more reports dont know how reliable but they are saying Its between 4 and 6.5 million Sterling...

Seems like this rumour has some legs, don't know enough about him to have an honest opinion but the style of transfer I'm always happy with. Great potential, ability to improve the team already and appears to be an intelligent player from the little you can see of him if you go looking for it. At £7m certainly worth the risk, would hope we'll still be going for an established star striker in the summer but we need some depth to our striking ranks of course and this lad appears to be a decent option at this time of the year.

Could be, I know which show that probably is, I haven't seen it, but they haven't reported anything yet about this on their site www.VI.nl. Normally any news anounced on their tv show also gets reported on their site.

Groningen supporters seem to know as much as we do. But supposedly Texeira has Scottish grand parents, so a work permit wouldn't be an issue?

I think Groningen will be willing to cooperate, they have a talented 20 year old backup striker who has made 3 goals in 4 games so far and can easily step in for Texeira.

Otherwise we sell him to Ajax or PSV for 10 million euro.

We bougth Texeira for 1,5 million Euro and wont sell him for 1 million pound
Our good players wil alway go for at least 7 million Euro.

He's talking about Joao Carlos Teixera from Sporting Lissbon.

And Ajax or PSV would never pay 10 million. Those days are over. Matavz was sold for 6 million euros last summer, wasn't he one of your best?
I like Tadic, but he isn't the best in the eredivisie. And he won't be sold for 10 million this summer with just 1 year left on his contract.
