Is it me or did this week look predictable?

Utterly awful performance against Bolton followed by two home performances that will live long in the memory.....we cannot have any excuses for not finishing 4th now, except that we raise our game against the big teams.

Shoot me down in flames, but this is what we are like. Bring on the Harlem Globetrotters and we will destory them, play a lesser side and we are awful, wasteful, unlucky, hit the woodwork but WE DO NOT WIN.

MAYBE this team can take a leaf out of the team that went onto qualify for the champions league and won a couple of cups.

I don't want to ruin anyone's day, but rather raise this topic now when we are on a high.

      Wolves away next.....

Also the goal post could do with being made slightly higher too.

cup game attitude is the difference, the desire shown by the players against both manc teams would be enough to beat the likes of bolton with ease...

I dunno but Redknapp must be right looking forward to facing a fully rested Luis with the bit right between his teeth and a chip on both shoulders after last few weeks. It's gonna be a right good journey from now till the end of the season - I can feel it!

Dalglish was right last week when he said that we didnt compete.Irrespective of whether we as supporters agree with signings or team selection is irrelevant. The players have to fight tooth and nail to win matches like that.Utd are a very ordinary side with a winning mentality.City are a very talanted side who are unsure.Until the late eighties, we were very rarely favourites. But we always 'turned up'.

That would make the goal a set of rugby posts if you plan on keeping the crossbar as it is ;)

This week will have boosted a number of player's confidence no end.
Carroll came in for the big match and got M.O.T.M.

All the lads can get big positives from what they have done.
That should now get us results against teams in the bottom half.

What we have at the moment,is a collection of overpaid footballers, who believe that they play for this great club, and so by definition, they are great footballers.Wrong.You come here and we expect you to perform to the level of youre predecessors, who were also top class footballers, but fought for the "cause",as well as their Bank Balance.Kenny is right, put up or f*ck off.I personally would be prepared to lose anyone of our squad,at the right price, with the exception,of 7 first choice players.

Said it before and will say it again.

Whenever we are expectd to win easily, we don't. I think in the last 3 seasons, we've lost to teams in the relegation zone at one point or another.

We can beat big teams but struggle against smaller ones, I believe it's better than we dominated the smaller teams but always beaten by teams we called "bigger". This because it tell people our team is also "big" and can compete with the top teams. And it's easier to correct our problem as when we have right tactics and players and mentality it's not hard to beat smaller teams.

When we play the lesser teams they put as many men behind the ball as they can and we struggle to brake them down

When we play the better sides they come and attack, we dont have to work so hard at breaking them down

Untill we start getting more creative in and around the opposition box lesser teams will continue to frustrate us using nagative tactics

Exactly, and that's why it is essential that we get another talented attacker in before the window closes. We need someone who can combine with Suarez, Bellamy & Gerrard to cut teams open more easily.

Good post, not sure what to make of it being honest.

Could it be passion?? Desire?? I really don't know. Every time you play the small clubs you do get stuffed. Redlfcblood might have the answer to this one.

Its all right us blaming the team for only raising their game in the big matches, but its up to the supporters to do the same as well. Produce the atmosphere that both the Manc games had every week at home and we will stuff whoever we come up against.

The mentality on the pitch and off the pitch works in tandem.

Weird post; not sure what to make of it if I'm being honest.  ;D

Let's look at this properly... We've beaten every team we've played in the League Cup (including Stoke) - so you can't be talking about those teams. We've beaten every team we've played in the F.A. Cup - so you aren't talking about them.

We've, therefore, beaten the following Premier League teams (best and rest) ...

      Arsenal
      Chelsea
      City
      Man U
      Stoke
      Bolton
      Wolves
      Everton
      W.B.A.
      Q.P.R.
      Villa &
      Newcastle

      Leaving seven teams...

      Spurs
      Wigan
      Blackburn
      Swansea
      Fulham
      Sunderland
      &
      Norwich.

Only two of which have beaten us and all of which we've still to face. It's therefore a fallacy to suggest we can't beat "the rest" - irrespective of how headline grabbing it might be.
