Urgent info for trains, lfc fans
      Feb 26, 2012 08:36:09 am
Supporters intending to travel to Wembley by train today are advised to take note of the following advice from Virgin Trains.

No trains between Liverpool/Warrington and Crewe

      Routes:

      London - Stafford - Liverpool

London - The North West - Glasgow

Birmingham - The North West & Scotland

      What is happening?

Due to the derailment of an engineering train at Winsford overnight, the line between Liverpool and Crewe and Warrington and Crewe is blocked.

      Alternative routes:

Details of the impact on all train service and alternative routes are available at www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/today.html

      Advice:

Due to the high number of passengers intending to travel from Liverpool/Runcorn to London for the football at Wembley it is recommended that if possible they consider driving to Crewe, Stafford or Stoke stations and use the rail services from there.

Car parking in the station car parks at Crewe, Stoke and Stafford is available free of charge. Coaches will also be provided to connect Runcorn and Crewe. Passengers travelling from Liverpool should travel via Chester or Manchester.

Virgin Trains apologises for the disruption and is doing everything it can to minimise the major disruption caused by the derailment.

Awful news. I really feel for those fans who payed £450+ for a ticket, and now they wont even be able to make kick off time.

They're just sh*t thick or would like you to think so, they shut down schedules at Christmas and new year like they do around here for 'rail repairs', the link of course is they don't have to employ as many extra staff for the busy times cos' they stop the F***ing trains
