All teams ahead of us will strengthen.

As will the teams below us.  It usually happens most Summers.  It's not how much is spent, it's how it's spent and if the transfter works out.  Can't really afford another Carroll situation, as much as I don't think Chelsea can afford another Torres situation, etc etc.

"Adjustments" could easily mean moving one player to another position/out the club and filling that gap with a new player.

He doesn't rule anything out. Nor does he give much away.

So, the media and co can carry on with their big wooden spoon, I'll just wait and see what we actually do during the transfer window.

Comoli says this Comoli says that

I dont believe anything they say. Why would he come out and give his honest view on the summer market? Actually how can he? He might have a player lined up who's price will rocket after the euros and throw a spanner in any deal

      Relax what happens happens
Exactly Brian, one thing's for sure Comolli will be well acquainted with the horse trading side of business and not giving your competitors an edge - of any description.

Of course we are not going to say 'We're going to spend £100M this summer - everyone increase your prices!'.

I heard us say something similar towards the end of last season and we ended up spending about £60M so I would suggest everyone takes this 'story' with an enormous bowl of salt.
      I would echo this.

What do you expect him to say? If we say we have more money we inflate the transfers. Its common sense!

His words also give the players currently in the squad more confidence that they are wanted here and seen as "quality".

Fancy that...... the press have taken a run of the mill comment that says nothing and means even less and made a "news story" out of it!!

It works both ways mate. He said big players are interested in us and suddenly we were signing the martinez and hazards of this world.  All that article says to me and Liverpool legend will be concerned in the summer if we are not pretty active in the transfer market

Bottom line is we need 2 or 3 world class players we can't afford to waste big money on british potential, and if we fail to land at least 2 world class players we will be in exact same position as this year while teams like Spurs , Arsenal and the Mancs pull away. This summer wiil be one of most important for King Kenny in the rebuilding plan.

All I read from that is we won't be having a big overhaul of the squad like last summer. We'll be looking for the missing pieces rather than building from scratch, which is pretty much what we did last summer. We don't need six or seven signings, we need two or three, a fit Lucas and hopefully some youth players to step up to round out the squad.

To me that screams of we will get another winger and striker and probably nothing else. Which is fine by me.

To me it means "we are telling you early and don't get excited"  if we haven't qualified for the CL.

I don't really care what they say, I just wish that they would stop contradicting themselves

I mean, they can say what they want as nobody has any idea what is happening inside Liverpool FC

Id tend to agree with you euro red. Very little reason for that statement at this stage of the season. How many players are we short depends what the targets are.

So he says he won't be signing 9 players.
      "Only a few"

I'd happily see us sign three quality signings,
      With a few outgoings.

      Striker, winger, midfielder.

That would do me in the summer.

That would do me to Racer if they were....

Cavanni, Tiote, Hazard, thats the type of quality that can bring no 19

Not a big deal. I took it as there wouldn't be 8-9 players coming in and 8-9 players going out.  I think we will see 2-3 players brought in and maybe 2-3 going out as well. Our squad is almost there. Almost.

I believe it was right that the club didn't spend any money in January despite the obvious lack of goal scoring in the side. There was absolutely nothing in the market and if we bought a striker we'd either end up with a washed up/too old striker or paying over the odds once again, which FSG will not allow to happen again as it did with Carroll last year.

I also agree, though that shopping list may be reduced slightly if we give the likes of Raheem Sterling a chance.

One striker a central mid a right and left midfielders capable of playing in a 4-4-2 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3. Im interested to see how sterling develops. If we only get two want a striker and attacking midfielder
