Top ten Liverpool players from your eyes only........

Let's lighten the mood a little bit... Its been a tough few few weeks.

There is a few of these lists of players knocking about on the boards currently, how about one for your top 10 Liverpool players.

Only criteria are that you must have watched them during your time as a fan, so then they wont be the standard lists of great Liverpool players, there are different age groups on here, so someone in their early 20s wont have seen the same group of players that someone in their 50s would have done.

Dont go with just the old, well he was great ill go with him, think of players you personally enjoyed watching for the club.

Harder than you think, im not trying to think in ways they left, just my enjoyment of watching them while they were playing in the shirt. (Maybe no.10 is lower than he would have been had he not left the way he did though)
You forget as the years go by though on some great consistent performances.

Come on, older or younger, which ever players...

1 and 2 were difficult for me, as i remeber Kenny playing when i was a kid but didnt see him live as much as i have Stevie, so thats why i went 1-2 that way.

There are so many more i could put into it though.

Ive no problem admitting Redknapp and McManaman. I was around 14 when those 2 Fowler and Rob Jones arrived on the scene and they were Gods to me. Macca dribbling Redknapp knocking passes about and scoring belters.

Honourable mentions Sami, McMahon and Pepe

Only seen a limited amount of players since I'm a younger one.

1. Gerrard- needs to explains
2. Judas- just complete poacher
3. Suarez- love his nutmegs and work ethic
4. Alonso- what a passer
5. Garcia- maddening sometimes but on his day a show stopper
6. Kewell - in 2006 was amazing
7. Fowler- only saw him on his return but he still had great finishing
8. Carragher- maybe not easy on the eye but complete commitment to the cause, inspirational.
9. Lucas- Fallen in love with the man was brilliant to watch at the start of this season and last season
10. Kuyt- Never seen such a hard working forward before and he still has the quality on the end of it.

Your about the same age as me Brian I'm guessing, ours aren't too dissimilar.. I like you grew up on that, when I was a teen.. I have no issue stating that I really liked Redknapp as well.. But I notice we both left Owen out, no matter the goals he scored, even in his pomp I never really warmed to the lad. Don't really know why.

Michael Owen was probably the fastest player I've ever seen in my life at his peak and his goals were top drawer for us.

Yeah he never came near my list there. Even at his height for us, I thought he was a brilliant finisher and a blessing to us at the time, but I never held him in hero status.

Not sure why that was. I think I felt he was never a "Liverpool type player" came across as more England first for me.

Probably right mate, probably the fact I felt he forced Robbie out...  ... Genuinely though I just never felt he was up there for me, he would struggle to get in the top 40 if I named them. Nothing personal.

Even the Owen final I always told my mates the game turned when Robbie came on and took defenders away..

I think he was underrated too. It's criminal how he only got 25 England Caps. He was a fantastic player.
