      Four up Four down
      May 22, 2012 02:38:27 pm
As the top four clubs in the PL normally qualify for the Champions League, I would like to see the bottom four clubs relegated from the PL this would mean even more excitement and no mid table team would feel safe from the dreaded "drop" until the very end of the season.

Probably this post should be in the general football forum?

Good idea, i would like to see the bottom 2 relegated as normal but 3rd & 4th from bottom go to a play off to stay in the league! or is this another way to make money?

      You say that Pup..

Had Woy stayed the bottom 4 could certainly been part of our thought process.  >:D

That's the way it is in Brazil, 4 clubs are relegated at the end of the season

In Belgium 1 club is relegated directly and another has to play against the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of second division to stay up. There are also only 16 teams in first division. That changes things a bit

I'll reserve my thoughts until our new manager is here.

I wish the top 4 were promoted when we were in the old second division,we finished 11th the first season after we were relegated and we finished either 3rd or 4th each season after that till 1961/2 when we finished 1st and got promoted. So if the top 4 had got promoted I would not of had to suffer all that heartache. In those days it was 2 up and 2 down.I think with the current ststem of 3 up and 3 down brought plenty of excitement or Anxiety(ask the likes of Q.P.R and West HAM) and works ok.As exiled says we had better wait and see who our new manager and dof is before we commit ourselves.
