Exactly seven days before the cup final. Should we rest a few or let them all play. I say keep them on their toes and play them. Seven days is plenty rest.

      My team:

                                                Reina

                           Johnson    Skrtel   Agger    Enrique

                          Downing  Spearing Henderson  Bellamy

                                          Carroll     Suarez

SUBS: Jones, Carragher, Coates, Maxi, Shelvey, Gerrard, Kuyt

Win. Give us momentum going into the biggest game of our season! COME ON REDS!!!  :kop5cf8koxp6: :kop5cf8koxp6: :kop5cf8koxp6:

Nice first post, I like it when the efforts put in. ;)

I'm stuck here between giving a few of the kids a run and telling the squad that anyone who shits out so they don't miss the final will definitely miss it. I'd like to see Suso and Sterling get a run in the Prem now we're near the end of a dismal Prem run.

Having said that I'd rather we went full on as the Kenny out brigade would be rubbing themselves all over the forum for days.

      Decisions, decisions.

think we should play pretty much our best eleven for this game, prepare them for the final next saturday, we can then rest some of our best (gerrard, suarez etc.) for the fulham match on tuesday which would also be good if kennys unsure about whose gonna start the final, id say all of the midfield apart from gerrard arent guaranteed a game in the final but anyway my 11 for this would be..

reina, jonno, skrtel, dagger, enrique, spearing, gerrard, downing, hendo, suarez, carroll       then depending on situation bring bellars an kuyt on, would be great to see sterling also especially with it being on tv it would look great if he came on an gave a top performance would probably get loads of features on sky sports news etc.

nothing less than a win will do, especially as we could end up 11th or 12th if we get beat

To be honest, I don't think starting Bellamy & Downing would not be the best idea. I mean like we are at home, and we know how them games go :-\ If a change is needed, then we don't really have that injection of pace to come in, unless Sterling comes on. Bellamy & Maxi work wonders together, so would go with them first, and then allow Downing be an 'impact' sub ( :P )

I know, but if you were searching for a goal and needed a player with some degree of crossing ability and pace, who would you rather bring on Downing, Maxi, Kuyt or Henderson?

Norwich have gone off the boil.

As a long term Kenny replacement I'm a fan of Lambert.

How do you judge anything at the moment?

      We ain't got no strikers.

      Starting line up?

Send the first team to Barbados and call em back before the Final.

Strongest 11 for me,we need 3pts to boost our confidence and get above blueshite, finishing below them would be the final insult for what has been a sh*t league campaing, rest a few against Fulham, we need players smiling going into cup final week,Kenny's camerardary will do the rest, the Chavs wont fancy meeting us one bit, considering history,

Should be an easy win this! 3-0.

.... is what I'd say in a more "normal" LFC season.

F**k. I'll take a scrappy 1-0. Anything. Just a win, please! For the love of all that is good, please, a wiiiiiiiin!

      --------------------Reina--------------------

      ---Johnson---Skrtel---Agger---Enrique---

      -Downing---Gerrard---Hendo--Bellamy---

      --------------Suarez-----Carroll-----------

Subs; Doni, Kelly, Coates, Spearing, Shelvey, Maxi, Kuyt.

Play a full strength side and go for the 3 points.

I'd then rest a few for the Fulham game, ahead of the F.A Cup final.

I dont see how we can afford to go into the final on a dismal run of defeats and expect to win, but then again we probably will and win the cup. what a F***ing sh*te league season this has been.

A win would be great, but can't help thinking that the game will end up a 1-1 draw, the way the side have been playing. A full strength side if possible.

happy with a draw, but some players need to start performing if they want to feature in the final.
      2-2 would be good.

Seeing as we're away from home, I think we'll come away with a victory.

There's just some weird sort of mental block (as well as sh*te finishing) at Anfield. It has to change next season. But when we're away, things are a bit more relaxed and the players look like they can express themselves a little better.

Will be interesting to see how our defence is sent out. The last thing we want to see is indecisiveness, again.

Kenny said he's fit and raring to go  :f_run:

Feel so depressed about this league season, been to almost every game at Anfield this season and seen some bloody awful displays, some shocking bad luck as well, but I was so upbeat before the start of the season and now I just feel like a flippy floppy scarecrow  :(

Can't wait for it to end now and then I'll start all over again come August with the same enthusiasm and inspired hope of a good positive season, but that's for another thread.

I'm going for yet another draw, our season's been littered with the bloody things but would love us to get three points before we face Fulham at Anfield for yes, you've guessed it, another draw

Not sure on the team Kenny will play, but I'm desperate and I've been saying this for the last few weeks to see some reserves blooded into the team,  we have nothing to lose by giving a couple of them a bit of experience of some first team footy.

Our last but one away game, give the superb travelling Kopites something to shout about, they've been marvellous this season, get them three points lads, go for it !!!

      Reina

      Hendo           Spearo

Suarez isn't really a wide man here, more like a wide forward cutting in with zero defensive responsibility that gets covered by Henderson. Johnson to provide width once Suarez cuts in.

Completely agree, we must get some of these youngsters playing now while we have that luxury.

I suspect today's side will closely resemble the one Kenny  has in mind for the final and then we'll see some changes for the Fulham game. I'm going for a draw today I think and then it wouldn't surprise me if the reserves turned Fulham over in midweek!

Opting for a very convincing win here, the lads will be hurting from that defeat by West Brom, they didn't get what they deserved at all in that game like so many others this season and I'm expecting them to take the full seasons frustrations out on Norwich today.

I think we are more likely to see some kids on the bench for the Fulham game at home, but not long to go now until we see who is playing today and who the subs will be.

First Team in Focus: Norwich City, Away (28/04/12)

      http://elitedevelopmentblog.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/first-team-in-focus-norwich-city-away.html

      Liverpool v Norwich
      KO: 17:30

      TEAM NEWS

Norwich will again be without centre-back Zak Whitbread, who is nursing a groin problem.
Fellow defenders Daniel Ayala and Marc Tierney remain sidelined by knee and groin injuries respectively.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard may return after being rested for last weekend's home defeat against West Bromwich Albion.
Fellow midfielder Charlie Adam has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

      MATCH PREVIEW

A glance at the table just about sums up the contrasting emotions of these two clubs in this Premier League season. Who would have thought when the fixtures were produced that Norwich would trail Liverpool by just three points going into this match? Whilst it speaks volumes for the remarkable efforts of all connected at Carrow Road, it only highlights Liverpool's domestic inconsistencies once again.

Whilst 2012 may yet be remembered for two successes in cup competitions, only bottom club Wolves have picked up fewer top-flight points than Liverpool since the turn of the year - it's 12 from a possible 45 for the Reds. In fact, unless they pick up eight points from their last four games they will be left with their lowest ever tally in the Premier League.

This fixture is one of many reminders of a frustrating season. Back in October they hit the woodwork twice and produced a string of fine saves from John Ruddy as Norwich became one of 12 clubs to leave Anfield with at least a point. Remarkably, the Reds have recorded two more wins away from Anfield than at home. Now they have two more matches to play before their Wembley meeting with Chelsea to try to improve things slightly. Last season they finished 10 points off the top four - the current gap is 16 points.

Norwich will relish the visit of Liverpool in their penultimate home game of the campaign, and will try to beat them on home turf for the first time in 19 years since the memorable days under Mike Walker. They've lost only two of their last eight at Carrow Road and those defeats were against both Manchester clubs. Paul Lambert would dearly love another landmark day in an incredible season, and will hope to put one over Dalglish, who he briefly played under at Celtic.

      MATCH FACTS

      Head-to-head

Norwich have not beaten Liverpool at Carrow Road since a 1-0 win on 1 May 1993. The Canaries finished that season third, three places above the Reds.

      Norwich

The Canaries have won two of their last 10 league games.

They have recorded just two clean sheets this term - fewer than any other top-flight side.

Paul Lambert's side have gained 14 points from losing positions this term - only Arsenal have a better record.

      Liverpool

The Reds have hit the woodwork 30 times in the Premier League this season, more than any other side in a full campaign since 2000 (according to Opta).

They have converted just 9% of shots into goals this season, the lowest proportion in the top flight.

The Reds have allowed their opponents just 120 shots on targets this term - the lowest tally in the Premier League.

Liverpool have won two of their last 11 top-flight matches (W2, D2, L7).

Kenny Dalglish's side have won seven away Premier League games this term - only the top three can better that tally.

Exactly only 3 points difference between us and Norwich and they have some excellent results this year. But without a doubt their main threat is Grant Holt.

Fancy a 2-1 win to us.

Would love to see Suso and Sterling get a run out tday... By my maths the highest we can finish is 6th, lowest 14th - we have absolutly nothing to play for and a cup final next week!

If they done get a look in I would be very very suprised, this is a great opportunity to blood some youngsters. There will be a forum meltdown if we lose and the papers will go mental - but it's worth the risk IMO...

I'd get a few of the 'squad players' involved this evening, there's at least two (possibly more) places for the final up for grabs in my eyes so they might fight that little bid harder to get one of those places.

Think we will surprise a few and win this one quite comfortably unless we rest too many "stars". Think a few players need to be told they are not just playing for a place in the F.A. CUP final but for their place at Liverpool.  Play well, work hard, score goals or your replacement will.

Got the cold beer sorted, just the win to go.

We can turn this lot over if our minds are on the game.
