Was watching Match of the Day and some other show comes on presented by Jermaine Jenas. Was just letting it play out in the background without paying much attention when I see they ask some Everton lass to pick a combined Liverpool/Everton 11. I mean what’s the point…

She prefaces it by saying it was really difficult as an Everton fan but she had to be fair. Fair she says, as she has Pickford in goal. Gordon somehow makes it in to midfield. And to top it off Richarlison is ahead of Jota, Bobby and Diaz. The same Richarlison who has more yellow cards than goals in the premier league this season (6 goals, 7 yellow cards).

And Demarai Gray just misses out.

Yeah to be fair a real combined 11 this season wouldn't have one Everton player in.

They go down and they are on a slippery slope to League 1. Will have to be a fire sale at the club with their wage bill and the fact they’ve already been pushing their luck with FFP. The Premier League might turn a blind eye to it but teams in the EFL get punished. Relegation could see them spend years outside the Premier League.

Compared with the past it seems to me that more people are not arsed if they get relegated whilst some are positively ecstatic about the prospect. I have to say I would find it funny as f*ck if they went down even if it would mean no derby game in the league at least. I would still want them back again at some point as that makes the rivalry better but if we can just have 1 relegation please off the back of Rafa and Fat Frank that will be one for the history books.
