With the players we bought, what with us NOT being in Europe, were you expecting us to challenge (take your pick out of title or fourth place, whatever you think is good enough for LFC)

Main objective - win f**king trophies. One won, stepping stone of Europa league, bring in a few fresh faces and maybe we can make the holy grail of fourth next season.

      Would you be happy then?

Calm down, calm down.... yes I would but there's no escaping or glossing over that 4th was our objective this season not next.

What about the players we bought this season? You happy?

Having no eurpean fixtures was supposed to make it easier for us last season not harder.

We'd finish above Everton and Newcastle.

      6th.

Now, well the likes of Andy Carroll who was showing great promise (at last) could spiral back downwards. The new manager may not get on so well with our best player and he may look for a move back abroad. The harmony within the camp (which I think nobody would dispute was there) will either be continued or it will dissipate. The fans will either take to the new manager (if it's Benitez) or they won't (if it's anyone else other than pep Guardiola I should think). Many variables. Our chances of doing well next season just got a whole lot worse though in my opinion.

Just a quick question - does the topic title include the entire management structure as well, now?

Not sure where'd we finish but I'll hold FSG accountable.

Not to sound too simplistic, I would say we'd probably finish 6th place, maybe 5th with a bit of luck. I simply cannot envision the same type of season next year where we don't always get the results from our performances and hit the woodwork as much as we have. And surely Downing is bound to score a few goals, and the Carroll-Suarez partnership grows more.

Obviously a much different scenario now without Kenny.

Better than last year for sure. FSG would probably hire someone who does not require any transfer funding but can still improve us as a whole.

Top 6. Everton won't finish above us next season.

A few clubs will come in and shark a couple of Toon players. Theres 4 or 5 players there I wouldn't mind in a red shirt. They won't finish above us next season.

With the current squad though, we won't compete with the top 5.
