Gutted no replacement lined up linked with mediocre managers who have achieved nothing it's like Rafa all over again.We get rid of class for average.

Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and Liverpool Football Club announced that Kenny Dalglish is to leave his post today as Manager after having his contract terminated.

Cheers, I have to admit I'd just reacted to the topic, and not really read through the articles yet.

Bad choice, IMO, but as is proven, my opinion doesn't count for sh*t.

So no DOF, no manager and now no assistant manager.

If FSG believe they have made the right decision (which they obviously do), they need to get their skates on and fill those positions with the very best available.

At least if they do, the new people will have time to put a plan into place over the summer.

I fear for the club's future while comparing the dismissal of Rafa under the previous Americans.

This is absolutely spot on the money.

FSG backed Kenny with a substantial transfer fund. They did not brief in the media against him. They did not undermine Kenny and they did not undermine the team or asset strip the club.

FSG made a poor decision last year when they decided not undergo a full selection process after Kenny had done such a fantastic job as caretaker. They should have done but my feeling was that they were bounced into it by the fans and the media. So, if blame is to be apportioned that is where it lies in my opinion.

Kenny agreed a minimum objective of fourth end of story and was given funds and the means to achieve that.

If we had finished within three points of fourth I think he would still be manager, if he had won the FA Cup he might just have survived but he failed the agreed minimum objective.

It's sad and I'm very sad to say it but from their perspective, looking at it objectively without the emotional committment they have done the right thing.

So let's not hear any comparisons with Hicks and Gillett because there are none to be made.

I believe FSG made a mistake last year. It's critical the next decision is the right one.

Can see Kenny going back to Blackburn, winning promotion and then getting into top 4 in prem, can just f*cking see it! It's gonna take a big man to step into the managers role and we need certain qualities from him. Must have a SUCCESSFUL track record with experience in Europe and be a ruthless f*cker, cause make no mistake, the players didn't achieve what they are capable of and some of em need a kick up the arse otherwise we wouldn't be in this position. Long live the king.

Dunno what to say, I'm distraught about this, was nearly in tears when I heard the news. Glad that he refused to resign and forced them to sack him. Cowardly bas**rds. 

They need to get this next decision spot on or we will become a mid-table club. And Martinez is not the way forward.

Hope not. He was hopeless at club level, a manager very much suited to international football.

Considering when we should be looking at buying players, he'll be managing the German National team!

Objectively maybe this will turn out for the better. From every other angle though I think Kenny needed another season at the helm to see if he could turn it around.

So Kenny, Clarke, Comolli, various admin and PR staff and perhaps Ayre will all be gone come the summer. Whatever you think of FSG right now, who they replace all these people with will give us a lot of information on which to judge them.

Just trying to think without sentiment, though its hard not to feel for Kenny in this. He's been made to pay for some over-inflated fees and poor performances from a few players this year. I think we should be sacking Downing instead of any of the managerial staff...
