For me there are only three managers that would feel better with this situation: Rafa B., Guardiola, Capello!

Would suggest a poll but suspect it'd be a landslide for Rafa, and rightly so.

Would feel optimistic if we could get in Biesla or Klopp but not sure how realistic that is right now.

Unsure about AVB, flopped at Chelsea but did have Porto flying, a job with pressure to consistently perform and win games which puts him ahead of the following bunch.

Martinez has potential but we are not in a position to take a gamble on a man who has had no pressure (was guaranteed his job even if relegated) or progression in three or so years. Think he's taken Wigan to their limit and needs to move on to a job like Villa where there is some expectation and one could see if his able to make proper progress with a club.

Lambert and Rodgers have had one season each in the EPL and had a remit of avoiding relegation. Again nowhere near the experience to manager a high pressure job like LFC yet. They could easily be another George Burley (1 brilliant season with Ipswich in the EPL then relegated).

Would rather take a punt on Borrell than the above 3 as at least he knows the club!

It's Rafa for me as well.  Loves the club, knows how to win trophies, has unfinished business, would surely do quite well if properly backed in the transfer market, and will come back the wiser after his time in the footballing wilderness.  Anyone think he's being doing anything else in the past year and half besides going over tape, making copious notes, and plotting exactly how to out-fox the Fergies and Mancinis and Mourinhos? (But let's hope he's also spent some time thinking about how to out-fox the Pulis's and Rodgers's and Hughes's as well...)

Basing this only on what I saw of Chile in the World Cup and of Athletic Bilbao this season, but Marcelo Bielsa seems to have a really good philosophy of how to play the game.

They aren't in the Champions League and he might fancy it at a club where he would have free reign to sign players from anywhere, as opposed to the Basque situation that Bilbao employ.

Again though, I haven't seen loads of him, but what I have seen, I've been very impressed.

cant see anyone for LAmbert,Martinez or Rodgers so how come they are near the top of the list on Sky.
The Manager of LFC has to have a close relationship with the fans or we know what happens.

      Agree with that.

It would be great to see Rafa operate with some backing (financial), but there is a part of me that's worried about going back and damaging another reputation.

AVB would be interesting - he certainly has a point to prove and I guess it would further ignite our bubbling rivalry with Chelsea.

Guardiola or Mourinho wont come, unless they are offered an enormous budget.

Comedy that people are going on about Dalglish only surviving on history, that we shouldn't go back and then in the next breath suggesting Benitez.

      Makes me laugh.

Rafa had his time.  He was shafted, he did do a good job, but ultimately he also cracked under the mental pressure.  Mental pressure going back for a second time would be even worse for him.

That my friend is it in a nutshell. It would take over Ā£100mil spend this summer for us to get anywhere near the top four and thats why Maureen will not come he knows he needs top top players in his squad and they cost money lots of it.City have just spent a Ā£billion in a few years.

And whoever he is needs to be in place before the Euros. We can't wander blindly into the transfer window and miss out on any potential targets.

It's a shame that Unai Emery signed with Spartak only a few days ago.
