Why would he want to play under AVB again? F**k off Spurs
Indeed, they are just a F***ing nuisance of an outfit in every aspect.

To be fair, that was probably Sturridge's best spell for Chelsea.

So looks like we are signing Sturridge on loan then though no surprise to see Spuds interested. He fell out with AVB last season though so that is surely not going to materialise for them the interfering pricks.

I'm not a huge fan. Far from it I think he is one dimensional and selfish, but hopefully Brendan sees something in his game that will work out under his guidance.

Not a big fan of him but getting him on loan sounds alright. Always good to have another option, and I hope he proves me wrong.

We need to buy Sturridge not take him on loan. Same with Sahin. These are the type of players we should be bringing in which im very happy about that but we need to be getting them on a permanent deal.

I would prefer a pernament switch for Sturridge rather then a loan but all in all, he is a decent player and I think he will add something to our team

Another issue I have loans are with types like Sturridge, people say he is a bit selfish, bit arrogant, bit Mardy at times..

If you sign him permanently it's for you to manage him, get the best from him.. He is committed..

A character like this, imagine what his attitude will be like should he be left out or torn off a strip?

"Ah f**k it, I'm off back to Chelsea anyway, only here for a few months"
Kicking his heels in training etc...

I'd signSturridge permanently, if loan is all we are looking at I'd rather just go in with Suarez, Borini, Morgan and Yesil..
At least I know they are fully committed.

But Chelsea want quite a lot of money for him. I'm sure we'd prefer to buy him, but they reportedly rate him at over 15 million.

So either go find someone else or work with what we have..

Loans aren't for a club like Liverpool for me..

Different type of loan( read the new book by the ex chief accountant) if we are splitting hairs but yes I personally believe we are..

Not trying to convert kid, just giving an opinion.

The whole loan system is taken advantage of these days.

Or Ronny Rosenthal back in the day, especially as he went on to help us win our last league title!

Ronny went on to sign permanently which was set up early wasn't it if I remember?

Like I say mate it's more an issue that I believe the loan system is knackered nowadays..

I personally don't believe Premier league clubs should be able to loan to each other..

In relation to Spurs we should fake interest in players from the Maldives or somewhere where they are poo and let Spurs go and sign them, clowns

Any more concrete news on Sturridge?

How ironical it will be if we end up signing this fella? The original offer for Torres was Sturridge + 40mn.

I'd be more than happy to have him now that Carroll is gone. The guy can score for sure and it's exactly what we lack, pace and goals. He can play on the wings too. A loan deal would be great even more if we can sign him if we want to(if he's a success).

Loans aren't the ideal way to get players on board, If you nurture them and they produce the goods the owner club eventually reap the benefits. On the other hand, if they turn out to be sh*te, you can offload them for no great loss. Works both ways, and as we seemed to have signed quite a few failures in the recent past, perhaps thats a better way for us to go. Well it's the only way now the deadline has passed, assuming we can still loan players outside the transfer window.

       ;D

Apparently he wanted to come to the club permanently not on loan... He will be leaving Chelsea next summer and wanted to come to Anfield now..

But we didn't have the money..

We should have signed him on a "play as you pay deal" - its the future!
